Indeed - it's like those great pages that DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) used to have in their manuals which say:

This page is left intentionally blank

Using this workaround does not grant access to Audacity - rather it grants access to Terminal (which passes permissions through to Audacity) so I would not expect to see Audacity in that list.
