gas, I may be missing something .... but I don't understand why you are "importing" MP3 files into iTunes. The mechanism in iTunes that you should use, and definitely works for me both with MP3s and WAVs produced with Audacity from vinyl , is the "Add File to Library" or "Add Folder to Library". WC

Neither the Behringer nor the Edirol have pre-amps in them - they are purely sound cards - but sound cards that do the job.....

Sorry can't comment on pre-amps on eBay, as I've no experience of those - anybody else have a view?

You would probably be better off passing the signal through a preamp/amp first using the phono socket, rather thn plugging the deck straight into the Griffin. The input options available to you in the drop-down are entirely dependent on your particular soundcard and its drivers. Sometimes upgrading the driver software to the latest versions increases the options (search t'interweb for your latest drivers).
