Re: 2nd track speed varies
Your soundcard effectively has two sides to it: 1) the input side - which you will have used for your recording, and 2) the output side which is used for playback. Playing back an MP3 on two different computers will test onblt the output side - and try a commercially bought MP3 or one you know to be...

Re: Exporting tracks for "other" software
AFAIK there is no way to do this with Audacity - you would have to copy your entire Audacity project file structure (the .aup file, the data folder and all the little .au files that it contains) and your fellow band members would have to use Audacity. If you export to WAV (or any other supported for...

Re: can cut but won't paste
Try using the time-shift tool , the icon with the horizontal bar with arrowheads at both ends to move each track to its required time position. Basically you don't need to cut and paste them into a single stero pair track as Addacity will mix the multi- tracks into a single stereo pair when you expo...

Re: crate project with au files
Sorry, I misunderstood you - I wasn't reading properly ......
The recovery tools in Audacity aren't that great, especially in 1.2 - I think they've improved a bit in 1.3.

Re: persistent recording hum
Hey Koz, great advice about the cleaning of the male pins. I was struggling today trying to work out why when recording from my TT that I was getting a significantly weaker signal on the R channel. Fiddled with the cartridge, re-seated the contacts on the pins, made sure the cartridge was aligned pr...

Re: crate project with au files
When you save an Audacity project as <project_name> it creates a number of things 1. a top level master project file called <project_name>.aup 2. a folder at the same filing level called <project_name_data> 3. and within the folder a sub-folder structure with lots of little .au files - segments of t...

Re: Fast forwarding, etc.
Don, this is not a stupid question at all - it is one of the great weaknesses of Audacity. If you read the Feature requests section I think you will find more than one post about this. For one of our major contributors to this forum, Kozikowski, it is his common cri de coeur. Hopefully the developer...

Re: To record/convert cassette to mp3 connections..
I ordered the Behringer. As I was ordering I noticed a turntable pre-amp listed. At some point in time I want to convert some of my vinyl to MP3 also (besides cassette tapes). But I'm thinking I can just use my old turntable thru my A/V Rcvr to the Behringer in on laptop. Agree? If that will work -...

Re: Put onto a CD
Export it as a WAV file - or a multiple set of WAV files if you have multiple tracks (for multiple tracks create labels including one at the begiining for the first track - and use Aydacity's Export Multiple) Then use you CD burning software to create a music CD not a data CD - and do use good quali...
