What's a good setting for Spectograms?
Since messing with the 1.3 Bench mark my Spectogram settings seem to have been changed - judging by the look of the display in Spectrum mode. What is a good setting to put them back to? And what is the Audacity default? I use the spectogram analysis to help me identify clicks and pops - the way I ha...

Re: Benchmark failed!
Yes mine fails too!
But I've been using 1.3 for several months now with no real problems for LP/tape transcription & cleanup.

Re: Adding to a recording
Yes you can - but if you have Stopped the recording at the end of side 1 you need to move the cursor to the end of the track (use the icon with the double right arrow heads - like a FF). Then you can press Record again and a second track will start after the first. I suspect that you had both side 1...
Re: LABELS
I would go ahead and try installing 1.3.3 and running a test recording. The worst that will happen is that Audacity may crash - it won't (he says full of bravado and confidence) fry your soundcard or PC. You can always revert to 1.2 if 1.3 doesn't work for you. All you can't do is move an Audcaity P...

Yes, but if you are working on multi-track Audacity projects this won't work - as when you export to WAV Audacity mixes/renders down to a single track stereo pair - and re-importing into Audacity will not restore the multi-tracks.

Re: Converting .cda files
Quote below from from the CoolUtils website http://www.coolutils.com/Formats/CDA CD Audio (.cda) tracks are audio files that can be stored on CD media. The .cda files are representations of CD audio tracks and do not contain the actual pulse code modulation (PCM) information. Cda files can be played...

Re: Count up timer
You don't get this functionality in 1.2.x which is what I assume you're using as you post in this section of the forum.
It is new functionality that is only in the Beta (billed as unstable) 1.3.

Re: when do you use the "import audio" button?
It means that you have almost certainly recorded one track at a time, by stopping the recording and then restarting with the cursor at the beginning for the second and subsequent tracks. Thus all tracks start at time zero (and therefore play simultaneously). This behaviour is reallyuseful for folks ...

Re: Not recording and bad static noise
The IONs are stunningly cheap for what you get. Sometimes too cheap. Koz But when they work well - they work well for the money. The biggest problem is the weight of the platter, it is very light plastic and is thus prone to wow and flutter - there is insufficient rotational mass to ensure constant...
