Well, it got resolved! We trashed Audacity from the computer, reinstalled Audacity from the disks that came with the turntable, and there it (Audio CODEC) was! An upgrade, a couple of restarts and all is working fine. Thanks for your responses!

Thanks for your reply. However I do not understand what you are telling me to do. I still don't know how to get the computer to recognize the turntable, or how to get the USB Audio CODEC.

O.K., I know I am resurrecting an old post, but it found it during a search. I have the same problem as the original poster and tried restarting, etc as instructed, but that did not work.
