Re: 6 channel recording card
Can you help us by telling us the exact make and model number of the sound card that records multi-channel in Audacity with updated drivers? It’s an integrated Realtek High Definition Audio, driver version: 6.0.1.7083 For other cards, choosing WDM-KS or WASAPI host may do so, but current release bu...

Re: 6 channel recording card
It gives either mono or stereo options, I can’t choose to record a specific channel. It means there is no way I can record what I can hear in rear channels? Which part is the culprit? Windows? Drivers? The audio card? Edit: I’ve just figured out. It was the driver. Updating the driver solved the pro...

How do I change the set?kozikowski wrote:Many multi-channel soundcards make their work available as sets of stereo channels. Audacity will only recognize one set at a time.

6 channel recording card
My entire Windows system is 5.1 compliant. I listen to 5.1 music via Foobar2000, play 5.1 games, watch 6 channel films etc. If the media is not in 5.1, some software is able to duplicate stereo channels (2.0→4.0 conversion). Audacity has the sound card output recording function. It works fine with t...

Re: So you say Audacity is a Unicode application?
although Audacity does not crash, it just says that the format is not valid It doesn't crash when you try to import the file. It does crash when you try to export it in FLAC format. The very simple workaround is to just rename the files using ISO-1 compatible characters and everything works again T...

Re: So you say Audacity is a Unicode application?
Jee... I'm beginning to understand what happened! You booted up Windows XP to check if the bug is really there. Since you didn't install Japanese support, you saw four Cyrillic characters (which do not require any specific installation) and three squares instead of those Japanese characters. "There ...

Re: So you say Audacity is a Unicode application?
What I mean is that for me in XP, Audacity will accept Unicode Character Codes without complaining or crashing as described by you. I just don't believe it! I explained in slightest detail what you have to do, I even attached a screenshot so that you can see how the title is supposed to look like, ...

Re: So you say Audacity is a Unicode application?
It works for me in XP No, it doesn't, because something wrong is with your web browser settings. HTML headers show this forum is UTF-8 encoded, but apparantly you see garbage instead of Cyrillic characters and Katakana. Please manually set this page to UTF-8 and try again. This is what we are suppo...

Re: So you say Audacity is a Unicode application?
Yes, it does work in any Linux ditribution, but the package you installed isn't called "Audacity 1.3.4 Beta (Unicode)", is it?
This bug report concerns only those Windows users who installed the Audacity beta version which is supposed to support Unicode.

So you say Audacity is a Unicode application?
I just assumed, because it says that in the title: Audacity 1.3 Beta ( Unicode ). Example nr. 1: 1) Import an audio file to Audacity. 2) Try to export it in WAV format with the following name: тестテスト.wav 3) You get an error message: "Cannot export to an audio file тестテスト.wav". 4) You failed. Try s...
