How do I get out of this state?

Fumble Fingers must have pressed crtl instead of shift and put Audacity into some unfamiliar mode:

Does anyone recognize this state? How can I get out of it? Bonus question: What exactly did I press to get into it?

Thanks so much.

Re: Just upgraded: 1.2 -> 1.3 Beta... Nice!

I've used it a bit more now, and there are a couple more enhancements that I would like to comment on. Meta data editor. Very useful. I'm converting audio books on 6 to 8 cassettes to MP3. The ability to load and restore tags is great for this. Track labeling. Outstanding improvement. The track labe...

Just upgraded: 1.2 -> 1.3 Beta... Nice!

I don't know why it took me so long to download the 1.3 Beta version, nor do I know why I did not download it instead of the 1.2 Stable version. Maybe the "stable" sounded appealing. Anyway, the 1.3 Beta version is Nice. Here are a few things I really like so far (only been an hour). Record append. ...

Re: Labels take forever

I think I solved the problem. I had been using 32 bit floating point samples; that is the default in Audacity. The (cheap) sound card in the on the motherboard had an occasional DC offset problem, so I replaced it. The new card has 24 bit sampling, so I set Audacity to use 24 bit samples. Now, track...

Labels take forever

I am creating a lable track so I can export multiple MP3s. When I type something in for a label, nothing seems to happen, but the processor goes solid CPU bound. About a minute or several minutes later, the label appears. That processing time seems way too long. At that rate, it would be faster to c...

Re: Scrpt to copy filename to Title attribute

Thank you for your prompt reply. I use Audacity when I convert my cassettes to MP3. It works great. This weekend I used Exact Audio Copy to rip from some CDs then convert to MP3. It works well, but unfortunately does not update the Title attribute. (I used EAC because it claims error free rips). I w...

Scrpt to copy filename to Title attribute

Does anyone know of a script or utility to automatically set the Title attribute of an mp3 file to the filename?

Thanks,

Re: Video equivalent of Audacity

Thanks Koz. I have some DVDs, and I want to extract short snippets (10 sec to 3 minutes or so), and assemble the data into a "best of" compilation, or post said snippets to youtube. Yes, I have heard of Macs video editing capabilities. Actually, I have heard lots of good about Macs in general. Howev...

Video equivalent of Audacity

Audacity is fantastic for my main use, which is copying cassette tapes to CD and MP3.

I would like to do a similar thing with video; specifically, take a snippet of a DVD and convert it to mpeg or something similar.

Can anyone recommend anything? (Windows XP only.)

Thanks so much.
