Re: Exported WAV file won't burn
. Bearing in mind I've got almost no budget for this, are there any least-expensive external sound card/splitter devices I can be looking at and daydreaming about? Probably the Behringer UCA202 . You can get cheaper USB soundcards, but most USB soundcards only have mic-in and line/headp...

I haven't tried this and I don't have a multichannel file handy...
Instead of WAV, select "Custom FFMPEG Export" (I assume you have installed FFMPEG). Then click "Options" and the FFMPEG dialog box pops-up, and you can select WAV, PCM, and other options.

Re: Raising volume of a certain instrument while lowing othe
I can't watch the video right now, 'cause I'm at work. But, I can tell you that this is generally not possible. Of course, if one guitar is in the left and the other is in the right, you can adjust the channels separately. (Or, if you have digital surround, you can isolate all of the channels.) And,...

Re: Why does clipping occur?
If your computer is a laptop then you're pre-amp is probably plugged ino a microphone input - And if that's the case, be aware that most USB soundcards also have only mic-in and headphone-out. Berhinger makes a line-in to USB device, and there are lots of high-end USB audio devices with XLR mic inp...

Re: New and Confused to getting this working
You just need to select your USB device as your recording input. (Windows might not show the manufacturer or model number, but you should be able to figure it out.) The Your First Recording Tutorial should get you going. so I plugged in head phones to the device and hear the sound per...

Re: Bad sound.
With a USB audio device, you are not using the Realtek soundcard/soundchip. The USB device essentially has a soundcard built-in. Make sure you have selected the USB turntable as your recording input. (Windows might "think" it's a USB microphone. That's OK as long as you have it set-up as a stereo mi...

Re: Hip Hop "echo" sound
NOTE - I don't listen to much hip-hop. Maybe you are talking about Reverb ? (Audacity's included reverb effect is called GVerb , or you can look for an optional plug-in.) Echo is a clear repetition of the sound, "Hello - Hello". It rarely happens naturally. Sometimes it sounds good when you time the...

Re: Pitch correction for video speedups/slowdowns?
If AVISynth works better, I'd say go ahead and use it. Changing speed and/or pitch independently is tricky, It requires FFT and you can get artifacts. There's probably a VST plug-in with "better" FFT settings. I've never worked with PAL or film, but with digital files I believe most video editors co...
Re: conexant
I'm not familiar with that issue, but are you using a laptop with no line-input connector? Are you trying to record from a line-level source, or are you trying to record "what you hear" from the speakers? If you have a laptop and you get an external USB soundcard, be aware that most USB soundcards d...

Re: Click and Pop Removal
I use Wave Repair ($30 USD). It does a perfect job of repairing most clicks & pops in the manual mode, and it doesn't touch the audio except where you identify a defect. The downside is that it usually takes me a full-weekend to fix-up an LP. This page (by Wave Repair's a...
