Re: recording problem
How/what are you recording and what source/input have you selected? If you are recording "Stereo Mix" or "What-U-Hear", then you are are going to record mixed sounds, otherwise, you should only be recording one thing at a time.

Re: undesired automatic pitch change
This can happen when you record on one device (say a USB mic, or external USB interface) and play-back on a different device (say, your built-in soundcard/soundchip). It can also happen when people are collaborating and recording on different systems. It happens because one of the devices has a cloc...
Re: Can I..
It depends on your hardware . With a regular 'ol soundcard, you can record a left-track and a right track. That's it. Of course, you can use your mixer to mix live, and record all of the mixer-inputs to a stereo track. if you have a multitrack interface ( example ), you can recurd multiple tracks at...

Re: Does the wave volume effect the recording volume?
No. "Wave" only affects the sounds coming from "inside the computer". And, generally you are not recording these sounds. Windows has two "mixers". One for recording and the other for playback. The exception is when you record "Stereo Mix" or "What-U-Hear". In that case, you are recording what's goi...
Re: bpm help
How and what are you recording? Are you recording yourself or someone else with a microphone? Are you recording or digitizing an existing recording? Digital audio files (CDs & MP3s) don't need to be "recorded"... If you are "making the tracks" yourself, you just need to use metronome or click-track....

Re: trying to record TO usb cassette player
I assume you are recording FROM your computer? Your computer's headphone or line-output can be connected to the cassette recorder's line-input. You'll need to get the proper cable/adapter to match the connections on both ends. If your cassette recorder only has a microphone input, the line-out signa...

Re: line in very low and noisy
Also, tell us what version of Windows you are running. I assume you have the mixer's line-output connected to your soundcard's line-in? And, you've selected the line-input as your recording source? i'm running a mic [thru booster pedal] to mixer Since the headphone-out from your mixer sounds OK, I a...

Re: Tempo Fluctuations on Playback (v. 2.0.1)
:o Very strange... I assume the pitch is affected too? Speed (tempo) and pitch are related to the sample rate (44.1kHz). ...plays back in perfect tempo in Winamp. There is an option in Winamp for sending the output to a WAV File. Go to Options -> Preferences -> Plug-ins -> Output and select Disk Wri...

Re: Ugly waveforms
It's hard to tell by looking at the waveforms... I think the time-scale is different and it makes it look like there is no sustain on bad/distorted waveform. Now this might not have anything to do with Audacity itself, It shouldn't... Once the signal is digitized by your t.bone gizmo, Audicaty is es...

Re: Why are my LPrecords in Audacity?
For the last few years, I've been using ImgBurn (FREE!!!) to burn CDs & DVDs. But as PGA said, there are plenty of choices. There are two ways to burn a CD, and just about every CD burning application can do it either way. Normally, you make a standard "Audio CD" (AKA "red book") which will play all...
