Re: Exporting 96khz file as 192khz
My question is whether there's any benefit or harm to doing my final export to WAV as 24 bit, 192khz? It sounds fine to my ear, but I'm curious if doing this--resampling back from 96khz to 192khz--would introduce any artifacts or cause other subtle changes. There are teeny-tiny "mathematical" chang...

Re: Unwanted audio on home video
But that's the easy part. Then you get to export the new, corrected sound track and edit it into the video show. You do have a good video editor, right? Right... Audacity can edit the audio and create a new audio file, but you'll need video editor to combine the new audio with the video and create ...

Re: STRANGE recording/playback problem using Vibe turntable
When recording, sometimes the audio for vocals (and occasionally some instrumental tracks) is barely audible. It tends to happen with older discs ('50s and '60s) - more often mono ones but sometimes stereo. I think your turntable is defective. :( It sounds like something might be miswired* (like th...

Re: how to sav as different format
Instead of "save", use "File -> Export" and choose a file type. (If you want to save-as MP3 you'll need to install LAME, and you'll need to install FFMPEG for some other format options.)

Re: time for a new mic??
Does your mic have an XLR connector? (All good studio/performance mics are low-impedance balanced with XLR connectors.) If it's the right "kind" of mic, it might have a broken connection inside. But if you can't repair it yourself, it's probably not worth paying to get it repaired. I assume you've t...

Re: Recording windows 7 Pro 64 bit (HDMI)
If you are trying to record HDMI from a Bly-Ray player, it's copy protected (unless you are playing a homemade disc). And, you probably have an HDMI out put, but no HDMI in put. ...and cant get any sound to come through the stereo mix. This page has some suggest applications if your soundcard/driver...

Re: skipping and pitch variation on recording tape via usb -
Is it a problem with the analog tape playback, or only with the digital recording. If it's a computer problem, it sounds like your CPU is multitasking and the recording is getting interrupted. Are you runnng any other applications while recording? (Even if you are not running other apps, Windows is ...

Re: Waves plugins on Audacity 2.x
What format are these plug-ins? TDM? Audacity supports LADSPA, Nyquist, and VST plug-ins. But of course, most companies that sell VST plug-ins don't test, debug, or certify that their plug-ins work in Audacity, since most people who buy expensive plug-ins don't use a free audio editor... ;) You'll p...
