Re: Can't control input levels
It's the analog-to-digital converter that gets clipped so you have to control the analog level before it's digitized. An attenuator between the preamp and USB interface should help if you don't want to buy an interface with a level control. the Beatles White Album You know... That's available digita...

Re: Can't record from the second input of my audio interface
Make sure that both Windows and Audacity are configured for 2-channel stereo. [Corrected - Thanks, Jademan!]

Re: Can't clear breathing sound on videos
Is there a way to just CUT THE SOUND when the audio channel is under a certain level of decibels ? There is an effect called a Noise Gate that does exactly that. But don't use too much level reduction because it will sound unnatural with the background sound/noise cutting in & out. This mic is real...

Re: Frying mosquitoes
I don't have a specific microphone recommendation but the most common type of mic for voice and almost anything else in a pro studio is a cardioid (directional) large diaphragm condenser mic . Look for a "good brand" and expect to pay at least $100 USD. Dynamic mics have lower output than condensers...

Re: Frying mosquitoes
Try Mosquito-Killer4 . Usually this noise comes from the computer's power supply and it gets-into the analog preamp (inside your microphone in this case). Some computers have noisier power than others and some microphones and interfaces are more immune (better filtered) than others. The Yeti sort-of...
Re: File M4a
To confirm FFmpeg is installed: Edit -> Preferences -> Libraries and make sure you see "FFmpeg Library Version (F55, 33......) If you're getting "pure noise" the file isn't getting decoded/decompressed properly. That might happen if it's not really an M4A file. If you get a very-short pure-noise fil...

Re: the sound of the guitar goes and comes
the sound of the guitar goes and comes Make sure any Windows "enhancements" are turned off. istening of the guitar is like if there was the phaser or the echo. Make sure you've selected the actual USB device as your Recording Device . (You shouldn't be using "loopback" or "stereo mix", etc.) FYI - ...

Re: The age old crackling problem
Are you getting dropouts ? with a buffer size at 2048 Have you tried a bigger buffer or increasing the buffer length in Audacity ? There are some suggestions here . ...Usually the problem is "something else" interrupting the audio or "hogging" the system for a few milliseconds too long, and you get ...

Re: Audacity, Big Sur and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Audacity can't "control" the Interface. It just "captures" (records) the digital audio stream. I assume it will work and of course the front-panel controls on the interface will still work. I don't know what Focusrite Control does so I don't know what features/functions you'll be missing... There ar...
