Re: Version 3.0.0 on Windows 10 settings and interference of usb Mic

There is general feedback from the mic What kind of "feedback"? Typically, feedback is a "squeal" when the sound from the speakers feeds-back into the microphone in an out-of-control loop. With computer speakers there is usually a delay so you get an echo. If it gets louder-and-louder every loop it...

Re: Help recovering PCM audio!

I have are what it says in the file properties on Windows which is the 66kbs or 33kbs bit rate... I can also see the length of the audio from the file details Windows wouldn't "know" anything about a headerless file. So that's a good sign and hopefully MediaInfo can tell you something. Do you have anything to swap-around? i.e. Can you plug the Roland into a home theater receiver to check the Toslink output? Do you have a DVD or Blu-Ray player with Toslink to check the Canopus? Canopus DA-Port USB Is that supposed to work? Of course, you need a digital-to-digital conversion. It loo...

Re: Help getting dialed in for ACX specs

I can't listen at the moment... balancing ACX specs with RMS normalize feels like I'm chasing my tail The Recommended ACX Mastering Process will nail the peak & RMS requirements every time. The "trick" is limiting... Regular linear volume adjustment changes the peak, RMS, and noise flor by the same ...

Re: ReplayGain

Usually an application that supports ReplayGain can also write the tags. But, I don't know if the tags are standardized and interchangeable between applications. I use it with Winamp. Wikipedia has a list of applications that support ReplayGain. But there are other similar options that don't rely on...

Re: How do I alter metadata?

Try MP3Tag. (It works on most formats, not just MP3s.)

WAV is about the worst format for metadata. It's not well standardized or well supported. If you want lossless, FLAC is usually better option if your player supports it. Plus, your files will be smaller.

Re: Need help normalizing left and right channels of radio show tapes

The Normalize effect allows you to normalize the left & right channel independently. But regular normalization works on the peaks so that may not make the channels sound equally loud. If not, you can try Loudness Normalization independently. But then Loudness Normalization might push the peaks into ...
