those web sites should do it for you. They have pictures and descriptions of what to do. Unfortunately, they don't help. Audacity contains no sound device drivers I wasn't saying that. What I mean is that I am still using Audacity in conjunction with the same sound card (SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio) with the same operating system (Win XP) as I did before the crash. I realise this is one of the common problems in the FAQ, but this is odd: I recently had a hard drive crash, replaced the HDD and reloaded all programs, including Audacity (1.2). Before the crash, Audacity worked perfectly and I could record from all expected inputs (mic, line in, stereo mix, etc.)....
