but pinnacle wont do that.
surely in audacity there is a way of limiting all the volume spikes???

problem is... i have no idea how to set the compressor. but nothing seemd to work. could not find it in the help files. also tried hard limiter ... but again random stabs did not work! really i just need to limit the volume spikes - i guess. thanks file attached - it is the drum beat ALL the way thru!

made the audio using a built in sound in pinnacle studio 12

i have an MP3 file and the drum beats are far too loud.
can audacity fix this problem?

i got a stereo cable with a plug both ends. one end into the mp3 player. (sandisk, sansA M240) the other into the microphone socket of the Toshiba Satellite P-100 computer. well much to my amazement i got it to record in vista! i am recording internally from the "computers speakers" but i am used (XP) to clearly seeing the 'signal' the line going up and down as it records. I assume the amplification somewhere is too low. it sounds loud enough - just the line is barely ...

I went to a XP machine.
recorded it there.
hopefully i don't have to do that each time.

does anyone know how to record sounds that i can hear on the speakers - from a website?

this used to be such great software - then Vista messed it up.
i hear vista is being replaced with windows 7 next year!

I put in labels to break up a long book reading into chapters. it is about 11 hours long File > Export Multiple command to MP3 it did this fine except it added two files just before the last one. -2.MP3 and .MP3 windows media player wont play them- plays the others okay any ideas? can i just delete ...
