problem is... i have no idea how to set the compressor. but nothing seemd to work. could not find it in the help files. also tried hard limiter ... but again random stabs did not work! really i just need to limit the volume spikes - i guess. thanks file attached - it is the drum beat ALL the way thru!

i got a stereo cable with a plug both ends. one end into the mp3 player. (sandisk, sansA M240) the other into the microphone socket of the Toshiba Satellite P-100 computer. well much to my amazement i got it to record in vista! i am recording internally from the "computers speakers" but i am used (XP) to clearly seeing the 'signal' the line going up and down as it records. I assume the amplification somewhere is too low. it sounds loud enough - just the line is barely ...

this used to be such great software - then Vista messed it up.
