Splitting Stereo, Editing each side in Mono = PROBLEM!

I imported stereo track and split stereo track. I then hit the drop down and converted each side to mono in order to edit each side individually. Now, I wanted to make sure that I could export to stereo after editing so I tested an export and it gave option to export in either joint stereo or stereo...

Re: *how can I REMOVE this STATIC INTERFERENCE...?

Thanks Trebor - I really appreciate you going out of your way to test things out and it's super nice of you to upload the before/after.

I'd like to distort voice less but realize it just might not be doable.

Big help Trebor.

Thanks guys.

*how can I REMOVE this STATIC INTERFERENCE...?

I haven't had a need to use high/low pass filters much to this point, but tried a bunch of settings with a particular recording I'm editing...some with success regarding some forms of static...some not. With the sample attached, I haven't found a way to eliminate the static without affecting the qua...

*^is there a way to get mouse to scroll horizontally w/o...

Is there a way to get the mouse to scroll in audacity horizontally...without having to use "shift + scroll"? Might be super simple...it would seem that because you pretty much only scroll horizontally it would be automatically enabled. So I just want to find a way to use only the scroll button to sc...

Re: *how to eliminate dither...?

Thanks Steve - yeh, I successfully reduced/eliminated a good portion of the dither noise with noise removal shortly after I posed the question. Was tricky finding the right noise sample that did the job but finally got one. And thanks Robert - I'll try what you suggested. Haven't used nyquist beside...

Re: *how to eliminate dither...?

Alright thanks Gale. One more thing guys if you have any quick tips...the dither seems to still be present when people are speaking in the teleseminar I'm editing. and then it fades out to silence usually where dither once was. I'm pretty sure it's dither I'm hearing...wanted to get your input how t...

Re: *how to eliminate dither...?

I forgot...actually. Just did and that did the trick - thanks Steve. And regarding my previous Q anyone = I had the project sample rate set at 8000Hz unknowingly...was the sample rate set automatically to match the original wav file? How do you find the sample rate of any given file in audacity? If ...

Re: *how to eliminate dither...?

Thanks again guys for all the help. Steve - tried the settings...and got the same result as I did in my testing before posting here. I basically tried the exact settings you suggest...can still hear the dither, volume is reduced though after applying the gate. Also tried the nyquist prompt Robert - ...
