I just had a bit of a breakthrough. For some reason or other, when I record as a stereo track, I don't get that clipping. Weird . . . I'd still prefer to figure out why this doesn't work when I record a mono track, but at this point, at least I'll be able to record the show tonight!

I'm using an Audio Technica condensor mic plugged into a Xenyx 502 preamp. The two most frustrating points about this are 1) this is a new development as this wasn't happening the last time I recorded, and 2) this seems to be isolated to Audacity as I have no trouble recording w/ Goldwave or Auditio...
