Re: Problem dragging a clip between tracks
Guess I should have mentioned that what I'm fixing is clicks and other short-duration annoyances (yes, I did try Click Fix), and the holes I'm patching are only a ms or 2 - sometimes a fraction of a cycle. I do it by matching waveforms and if absolutely necessary, editing samples. Results are impecc...

Problem dragging a clip between tracks
I've finally started using this feature, or rather trying to, and thus far my success rate is under 50%. Still using Audacity 1.3.12 Beta. Here's the scenario: I want to replace a chunk of a track with a copy of a nearby portion to remove a defect. "Editing a clip can move other clips" is Unchecked....

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
If it does happen again and I save a copy of the .aup file without the data, would that be useful? I'm thinking a close look at the waveblock records might turn up a clue.

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
All observations are from the same project. I've since joined the splits to avoid further trouble, and removed the copy track. The project contains around 90 minutes of audio on two tracks, but only one track (the longer one) was involved in the reported tests and observations. If I were going to at...

Re: New plug-in effect - PopMute
I'm using "1.3.12-Beta (Unicode)" on Windows XP, SP3. Pop Mute is an effect I've probably used fifty times now and I've never encountered this problem before. After several hours of experimentation and two Audacity crashes (I was writing a log of the experiments to send as reply, but the system logg...

Error Message in Pop Mute
This could be classified as a bug report with a workaround found. I don't know whether the issue is in Audacity itself or in the effect I was using. I use this effect often and have never seen this happen before. I'm using Windows XP, SP3. I had 162 ms selected about 30 minutes into a long track (pr...

Re: Simple plug-in for creating partial fades
Just what I've been needing. I'm fixing large amplitude changes in church recordings from switching to/from the ceiling mic to pick up voices from the congregation. I generally have to amplify the region, but mic picks up everything, so up comes the b/g noise along with the voice. I use Fade by dB t...

Re: Phase jumps when recording
<Device Manager->Sound, video and game controllers->Realtek High Definition Audio->Update Driver> says driver is already up to date, the best driver is already installed. I have version 6.0.1.5910 dated 8/4/2009. Funny thing, last year I found a newer driver when I was experimenting with this proble...

Re: Phase jumps when recording
My "thermal problem" hypothesis isn't quite dead yet, but it has a bad cough. Room temp now is 62-64 F to save fuel, and I'm finding that when I start receiving audio in Audacity, there's a 20 - 50 % chance of the process waking up in the frequent phase jumps state. This applies to Monitoring, Recor...

How'd I miss that one? Thanks!
