Re: Problem importing key bindings to 2.1.0 or 2.1.1
Update: After manually entering the missing key bindings, I found that the 'B' (play to selection) and 'C' (play cut preview) keys were crippled in 2.1.1. Restoring Defaults re-enabled these keys. I exported this key bindings file from 2.1.1 and imported it into 2.1.0 for test. It works there, but c...

Problem importing key bindings to 2.1.0 or 2.1.1
Using Windows Vista and Windows 7, I had just updated both to 2.1.0 using the installer and found I'd lost my key bindings. I still had 2.0.5 on an older laptop so I exported the bindings and tried to import them into 2.1.0. Still having trouble, I went to the forum and discovered the 2.1.1 release ...

Re: Errors in data file names in an .aup file
Does Bit Defender have an option to trust or ignore applications? Gale If it does, I haven't found it. Not likely it does, since one of their advertising points is that their program doesn't leave any decision-making to the user. I picked it because the testers give it good grades and it doesn't ha...

Re: Errors in data file names in an .aup file
Quotes below are from the 'Bug 137' report: "Usually errors are associated with multiple projects open at the same time and Audacity putting blockfiles in the wrong _data folder, or with a project that has multiple "d*" folders inside "e00" and Audacity putting the .au file in the wrong subfolder." ...

Errors in data file names in an .aup file
I recently saved a project on my laptop (Audacity 2.0.5, windows 7) and when I opened it again the error dialog said it had 2 missing block files. One of them ended with ".au.au", and removing the extra ".au" fixed it. The other file name was "Arial.au". I was able to find the correct file by lettin...

Re: Problems with Sound Finder & Find Clipping
Sorry, didn't know I'd stir up a hornet nest here, but at least it's agreed that some bugs are to be exterminated . It should be using the average of the two channels... I think it should use the greater absolute value of the two channels. Consider for example a nature recording. There could be...

Re: Problems with Sound Finder & Find Clipping
Hmmm... Just tried it on a copy of the waveform amplified to > 0dB, and yes it finds the peaks. Don't remember enough details to figure out what I was doing wrong, but it does work as described. Sound Finder also doesn't miss the over-range points, contrary to my original post. It does, however, app...

Problems with Sound Finder & Find Clipping
I'm trying to flag overloads in a recording. Find Clipping wasn't finding any even though the red marks were present. Could this be because I'd used Normalize->Remove DC Offset? Or perhaps because I'd used Clip Fix and now the peaks were not clipped anymore although they exceeded 0 dB? I then tried ...

Re: Correct Azimuth when capturing Monoural Cassette Recordi
I haven't used my spreadsheet in a few years now. If you can live with adjusting your cassette deck's azimuth in real-time while capturing the playback, there is an excellent way to do it which works equally well for stereo recordings provided there is at least one source in the mix that was origina...

Re: Noise Removal effect preview affected by Gain slider
Do you agree that it is the Preview that is wrong and that the applied effect is correct? Yes I think this issue could be resolved relatively easily for a single track, but I don't see a good solution for previewing multiple tracks. I wonder if anyone applies Noise Removal to multiple tracks simult...
