Real USB connections... not sure what that means. There are 2 USB-3 ports rated at "Up to 3Gbps" . According to the on-board hardware analysis, one is Hi-Speed and one is Super Hi-Speed. Is that real, or shared?
The MobilePre works just fine plugged into my 4-year old MacBook Pro.

Re: Playhead won't move past initial stutter ???
Thanks Koz - I tried that, and yes, it worked fine with the Mobile Pre unplugged. Figuring it was an issue with Mountain Lion – as it never did this before I upgraded from Snow Leopard –I installed the up-to-date driver for the Mobile Pre, but still no difference. So I'm now thinking it's hardware i...

Playhead won't move past initial stutter ???
MobilePre 1.1.2
Audacity 2.0.2
OS 10.8.2
This is very strange, and very consistent: In choosing either PLAY or RECORD, the playhead begins to "stutter" at the beginning of the track, but will not move forward. ???? Consquently, I can neither play nor record. Help???

Re: Labels on the fly
You should do your recording in 1.3.12, save your work, then open the recording in 1.3.13 to do the editing.
Are you recommending this because 1.3.13 is still alpha and not 100% dependable for original material, or because there's something better about recording in .12?

Re: Labels on the fly
That's great - I will download the alpha and give it a try.
Here's another question: Once the labels are on the track, does Audacity have a "go to next label" command of some work around, so rather than having to scroll through the entire track (mine are very long), I can skip from label to label?

Re: Labels on the fly
Thanks, Bill - I just read your post. Apparently I hadn't set my preferences to notify me when receiving a reply to a post. I'm so glad I checked in - I'm starting a new book today, and your answer reallys helps.

Audacity Crisis! Help - Lost 17+ hours thru renaming
I jsut finished recording a 17+ hour audio book, and, in organizing the files for editing, I renamed them in the finder. Consequently, when I opened the newly renamed files (I had renamed the data folders accordingly), I got a message that the data could not be found and did I want to replace the mi...

Labels on the fly
Hi - I'm recording lengthy takes of audiobook narration. As I record, I need to leave a searchable mark where I've made a mistake, so I can go back later and edit it. Is that possible in Audacity? A mark or label I can insert on the fly, then GoTo during playback? AND... If so, will that mark or lab...
