Re: Static/distortion on recording in Yosemite
You still have not said what device you are recording from. Is it line-in to the Mac or a USB or Firewire external device? If it's a USB device, connect it to an empty USB port on the Mac. Do not connect it to a USB hub connected to the computer. Perhaps if rates are mismatched as they currently ar...

Re: Sample Rate and Sample Format
The sample rate will default to whatever you open/import. If you open a 96kHz file, you should see that in the Project Rate box in the lower-left corner. There is one caveat to that, in that only the first file imported into an empty project changes the project rate. So if you already have audio in...

Re: Looking for an effect
I downloaded it, and as I am on Mac OS X, il created a "Audacity" repertory and then a "Plug-Ins" repertory in "Applications". You should not need to create a "plug-ins" folder in the Audacity folder - it is already there. Make sure you are using Audacity 2.0...

Re: Input Record Level
Bill, I think frustration22 uses the UCA 202 so (s)he can hear the turntable while recording, as Koz suggested in http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=82820 . I don't know why frustration22 does not use Transport > Software Playthrough in Audacity to monitor (or LineIn from http://rogueamoe...

Re: error message with Contrast analysis
I think this is the bug you are referring to http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=513 . Try using the dropdown menu at the top of the track you are analyzing to move that track to the top of the project. Please be careful with XP. It is a security risk given Microsoft no longer supports ...

Re: batch convert to headerless raw files
I need to convert a large number of files from wav-header to headerless raw 16bit 16kHz audio. Is that possible via batch conversion with Audacity yet? the posts I found on this left me a bit confused, but I havn't found an "exportRaw" command ... The command to use in the Chain would be ...

Re: Can't get MP3 downloader
I have a new computer with Windows 8.1 and have ripped a music album successfully using Audacity 2.0.6 I then tried to export as an MP3 and was directed to download lame_enc.dll. This resulted in an error message "ShellExecuteEx failed, code 1314 A required privilege is not held by the client....

Re: Not able to record using Asus Laptop and Behringer UFO20
Thanks a bunch! I actually just found the problem this morning. It was a bad RCA cable. I'm a DJ and I'm recording straight from a mixer from 2 turntables. I do have a question though, should I switch to phono on the UFO202 or should it be line. It is a mixer so I would assume line, but phono did s...

Re: clicks and dropouts playing Soundflower recordings
With Audacity set to Soundflower as input and Built-in Output as output, it works fine with the buffer at the default 100. If some idiot like me sets Soundflower as both input and output device, the dropouts occur. If, however, that same idiot for whatever reason wants to keep Audacity set to Sound...
