Re: Audacity records faster

I asked for help to a friend, and he told me something like this: This issue is related to the audio speed recording. First, you can take a look at the quality in PulseAudio: pacmd list-sinks |grep sample The answer should be something like: sample spec: s16le 2ch 44100Hz In case you haven't got th...

Re: Elderly dummy has MP3 export issues

LAME zip for windows downloaded and sitting, for the time being, on my desktop. Audacity can't see it there. Right-click over the downloaded ZIP file and click on "Extract All". Then you have a folder containing lame_enc.DLL, the README and the def file. Just ignore the README and the DEF...

Re: Can't get MP3 downloader [SOLVED]

Well, you may not like the reply.... I was playing with Windows Media Player, (I've recently bought a new desktop, so it is a later version than I had), and I found I can rip a CD and save as MP3 very quickly and simply. Didn't like to tell you that in my last message. Thanks. Workarounds are fine....

FFmpeg does not interfere with LAME so you can leave FFmpeg installed. FFmpeg can still be useful if you ever want to import Windows Media files or import audio from video files.

Re: Delay

Monitor directly in hardware, not use software playthrough which is delayed because it has to route through the computer from input to output. Hardware playthrough usually means connecting your headphones to some USB mics that have a headphones port, or to an appropriate USB recording interface. If ...

When you have made enough posts to go off moderation, you will see an EDIT button in your own posts.

However it is best to post another reply if you want attention. Use EDIT just to correct some fact that is wrong.

Re: Elderly dummy has MP3 export issues

tempo changing You'll have to use Audacity for that. To begin with, simply import the MP3 you want then File > Export Audio... . That Export Audio window appears even if you don't have LAME or FFmpeg installed. If you don't see that window at all then you didn't get Audacity from us. In that case I...

Re: No Audio Heard when files are Exported

You probably need to reset the Windows default playback device to the headphones or speakers that you are trying to use: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_playback.html#usb . If you disconnect the turntable when the computer headphones/speakers are the default playback device in Windows Sound...

Re: Changes its settings on its own during recording...

Audacity's input slider is tied to the Windows input slider for the recording device you are choosing in Audacity. Are you sure in Audacity's Device Toolbar that you are recording the mic that you intend, and not stereo mix or What U Hear? Otherwise, if Mirillis Action modifies Windows volume settin...
