Re: KMan, I am glad to report that your problem is solved...
I concluded: "What needs to be done here is use/develop a system that recognizes voice as such and dismisses the rest". Next, I read a post of yours saying "We are not interested in doing that" (or words to that effect). You proposed, explicitly, that we should host a forum for ...

So, Sphinx cold-shouldered you and I now see that you posted in http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=83058 and got no response. That would be because (a) no developers read this Forum regularly (b) you framed your question as a joke, and I guess people therefore aren't clear what y...

Re: Suggestion (Bandpass Filter and Custom FFT Filter)
The actual min and max frequency chosen in Spectrograms prefs does not make the "drift" better or worse. But merely opening and OK'ing Preferences in any pane, without changing any preferences, redraws the centre frequency line at the correct place. So I guess that could be the key to the...

Re: Suggestion (Bandpass Filter and Custom FFT Filter)
It looks like there is a bug sufficient to be confusing when you zoom in to the vertical scale in linear spectrogram view. The vertical track scale is a bit imprecise, but (on Linux) I can't get it as bad as your illustrations. Is that a platform difference, or does it depend on preference settings...

Re: impossible to play drums
Could you tell me what the zero tolerance interfaces for latency are available See the link I already posted http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recommended_sound_devices#USB_Interfaces , you will find a Behringer UCA device suggested there. I have tried going from the desk into the laptop back to th...

Re: Problem with playback through audio interface (os 10.9.5
Have you tried changing Audio to buffer in Audacity's Recording Preferences? And/or looking at any accessible buffer settings in Edirol? Perversely, reducing Audio to buffer below default 100 ms in Audacity can often help. Have you tried turning wireless off? I played around with the buffer for a b...

Also what does http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/ have to do with this? Your PDF is not about Sphinx as far as I can see. Do you work at CMU? If you are not a developer, what features are you requesting in Audacity? You can ask for features here http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=20 . But ...

Can you explain what you are talking about please. Sure. It will be my pleasure. Sometimes, in some initiatives, the environment is not too conducive to experimenting, looking for new stuff in a rapidly changing state-of-the-art . One example is when a newcomer gets a response like the one below. N...

Re: Suggestion (Bandpass Filter and Custom FFT Filter)
I notice a problem in frequency selection in spectrogram in version 2.1.0. When you using the linear frequency display, for selecting the spectrum, it doesn't have the center frequency in the center. Instead it has it below the center. That is correct. The spectral selection is a fixed order high, ...

Re: Compromised Sound Quality
I think you should do double-blind tests to verify what you think you are hearing. If you still think there is a problem please give all the steps to reproduce it including the all the effects you are using. Shaped dither adds low level noise which is concentrated in the highest frequencies. The low...
