Re: Audacity can't open

I deleted the audacity.cfg file and created a new one. When I'm opening the software, it overwrites the audacity.cfg file and it's saying: NewPrefsInitialized=1 Version=2.0.6 PrefsVersion=1.1.1r1 [Version] Major=2 Minor=0 Micro=6 Gale, can you tell me where to write this down please ? [Directories]...

Re: Upper length bar playback problem

How can I get rid of that icon? I wanna click wherever I want in the bar so Audacity starts to playback, even if it's 1 sec earlier from the last clicked zone. I hope you understand the problem, my english level is not perfect so I can't explain it better. I now have a fix for this. It is too late ...

Re: Visual Studio 2008

I've updated http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Developing_On_Windows at the top sufficient that it's clear the supported solution is to build HEAD with VS 2013. Ed is responsible for his private "hometownband" page. 2.0.6 release should be built with VS2008. 2.0.6 would not build with VS20...

Re: Upper length bar playback problem

I've created a bug report: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=704 . I marginally prefer (for discoverability) that the arrows appear when the pointer is a little way either side of the cursor, if so the pointer would change to a finger when you were above the height of the triangle . ...

Re: Mic adjustment inoperative when using USB input

If the red hold lights to right of the meter bars come on, there is clipping: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m/images/1/1c/meterinactionclippingannotated3.png Thanks. I didn't realize that, though I suppose I should have guessed it. I knew it was in the danger zone when it was close to the right....

Re: Audacity can't open

I constantly get a error message: "Audacity could not find a place to store temporary files. Please enter an appropriate directory in the preferences dialog." I can't even click on the OK button and I have to force quit the program. I read this thread but it's not working for me: http://f...

Re: how to record in audacity with two microphones at once

Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and fill in the information. Audacity only records from one source at a time but you can aggregate the two microphones into one device in Apple Audio MIDI Setup. Don't be surprised if the mics drift apart slightly during recording. We already have a ...

Re: Audacity 2.0.2 computer download failure

The files on the disk only have audacity-win-2.0.2 - nothing with an exe on the end. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. You will still have that confusion after installing Audacity 2.0.6. You can't see the ".exe" after the end of the file name because Windows hides file extensions by defa...

Re: unable to record streamed music

Audacity 2.0.2. [...] I don't see WASAPI in any case. WASAPI host requires 2.0.4 or later. I suggest you update to the current 2.0.6 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . In Audacity 2.0.6, open Device Toolbar . In the first (Host) box of Device Toolbar, choose "Windows WASAPI"....
