Re: Program crashed when I mixed and rendered- lost project
Hello - I use Audacity 2.0.5 on a Windows 7 computer. I had many tracks, 'selected' them all, then 'mixed and rendered' to mix them down to one. My machine froze up, the program ended, and when I opened Audacity again, ALL tracks, including all muted and unwanted material was on one 'nightmare' sou...

Re: Warning - Opening old project file
Also, please be careful with Windows XP. Microsoft are no longer officially supporting it, so it will be unpatched against any new security vulnerabilities that appear. Ensure you have a good third-party anti-virus application. Be aware though that this will not give you complete protection against ...

Re: extract clips from CD
I have CD downloaded on MP3 how do I get it imported from MP3? You mean, you extracted the entire tracks off the CD to individual MP3's for each song? If so you can drag the MP3 files into Audacity then they will be on separate tracks in the same window. You would then do File > Export Selection......

Re: it starts playing when i add markers
I would quite strongly prefer that Ctrl+Click is confined to audio tracks and not the entire Track window. Given Gale's explanation of the uses of this feature, I don't see any downside to doing that. Unbeknown to you, you turned that (fairly minor) problem off when you chose to turn EXPERIMENTAL_S...

Re: Recording Problems
I suggest you ensure you get 2.0.6 and reset preferences as described. Some or all of your new problems may be because Audacity cannot write to its temporary directory. Resetting preferences will set the Audacity temporary directory to the default location in your own user space.

Re: Times of tracks don't match up when exported
i put both latency options to 0... I suggest you read the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_preferences.html . If you set Audio to buffer to zero you will not be able to play or record anything. and i aligned tracks to 0....... exported them again...... lined them up in new pro...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers
@Gale: my reading of this is that between the three of us we have reached a compromise consensus: 1) Retain Ctrl+click in the timeline for a secondary Quick-Play 2) a Preference to turn Ctrl+click Quick-Play on/off 3) with the default = "off" 4) with Cltrl+click still able to interrupt re...

Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.
I haven't read all this, but have you tried different USB cables and different USB ports, and asked Blue about this?
Is this an old Blue from before July 2007 (serial number below 76-065000)? Those are not compatible with Vista and later, according to Blue.

Re: Times of tracks don't match up when exported
When overdubbing, Audacity pushes the newly recorded track backwards after you stop the recording. You can adjust that correction at "Latency correction" in the Recording Preferences. Perhaps you did not notice that correction happened, or perhaps that correction pushed some tracks behind ...
