Re: Fledgling voice artist seeking counsel.

So is the Blue secondhand? Might it predate July 2007? What was the answer to Steve's question? Is position 2 quieter? If not, the mic may be broken and not giving you position 1. What do Blue say about it? Do you get the same in Windows Sound Recorder? If so it is not an Audacity problem. Gale

Re: Recording "Marks"

I have just purchased the Tascam DR-05 recorder. It can place a "Mark" during WAV recordings. This I can utilize on the unit, but cannot see in Audacity. Tascam manual states: "BWF compliant software" is needed. Am I missing something or can Audacity not recognize these Marks? I...

Re: mic suddenly not recognised in audacity

It would help if you answered the questions in the pink panel at the top of the page. Reinstalling Audacity only resets its preferences if you enable "reset preferences" halfway through the installer then say "Yes" when Audacity asks about the reset. If you have the latest 2.0.6 ...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

I'll let one of the voiceover artists reply to that: I don't really follow that description, but it seems like a highly untypical and awkward way of operating Audacity. Can you operate a mouse effectively while standing? Why not just leave the recording rolling while making the " dozens of tak...

Re: Controls Grayed Out - Program Lock

Came back to Audacity today after six months or so of not using it on this computer and found that each time I try to edit a file, I can playback the sound fine but the editing controls lock up and are displayed all in gray on the menus. Might this be the problem - you need to press the yellow Stop...

Re: Recovering .aup that suggests importing all the "raw dat

The file in question, "p1_fastforclimate3.aup", which was around 6-7 minutes and very complex, with different tracks, volumes, snippets coming in and out, etc, was recovered incompletely. Only one track was displayed and it was maybe 20-40 seconds long, missing all the other elements and ...
