Re: Sound Device Setup
This might mean Pulse Audio is broken. Pulse Audio is the system audio mixing device (oversimplifying it). Sometimes installing Pulse Audio Volume Control (pavucontrol) can help, or you may want to reinstall Pulse Audio itself. Open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get install pavucontrol If you need ...

Re: Opening song file-sluggish
So you point to a folder with a lot of files in it and tell Audacity to scroll down, and then wait....and wait..... @Mrkil1o1, can you confirm that is what's happening, and/or describe in full detail? When I go to make an edit on a track the program opens just as I would expect it to do. However, w...

Re: Crashing on Yosemite
the new chain, created in 2.1 seems to run just fine!! Thanks for the tip--chains don't transfer from 2.0.6 to 2.1! They need to be rebuilt. Hmm, they should do. It was broken then fixed, at least on Windows. I'll test. I would prefer we didn't have a regression that Chains don't migrate to the new...

Also for your next question please look at the pink panel at the top of this page and post in one of those Forum boards for your operating system. We usually need to know your operating system and Audacity version in order to help.

See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/an ... .html#vamp.
To ask the obvious, did you restart Audacity after installing the plugins?

Re: Equalized music over several Files
So there is no way withing Audacity to set the to adjust the mp3 files except by manual hearing and using the Amplify effect on each individual MP3 File, is that correct? There is a Nyquist plugin here that uses a "similar" algorithm to replaygain: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic....

Re: Importing MP3 files (Not Responding)
In a nutshell you may not have realised that Audacity expands imported audio to PCM, so you probably don't have enough disk space to usefully edit. I updated the version on my desktop (Windows 7) and left it running in the background while I did something else. When I finally looked at it again the ...

Re: No Playback on MacBook Pro
I didn't have to plug in the headphones and unplug them. I had a problem that needed that fix a couple of years ago. I remember a little red light behind the jack, but I forget what the red light means. That red light means that the headphones connector is engaged. If you see that light when you do...
