Re: Static Recording PROBLEM
The current Audacity version is 2.0.6 http://audacityteam.org/download/mac though that may not make any difference. Try Audacity > Preferences..., Recording section. Experiment with different "Audio to buffer" settings. A lower buffer setting might help. If you just added a lot of extra ap...

Re: Can I export to .m4r
This is just if you prefer to use Audacity to doing the conversion in iTunes. Unfortunately there is currently a bug in Audacity's AAC export, so better to export from Audacity as a WAV file, then use another program (such as iTunes) to convert the WAV to AAC (and then rename it with a ".m4r&qu...

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
Also, please be careful with Windows XP. Microsoft are no longer officially supporting it, so it will be unpatched or not fully patched against any new security vulnerabilities that appear. Ensure you have a good third-party anti-virus application. Be aware though that this will not give you complet...

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
I am using XP and 2.0x I think. Where can I verify the version of Audacity I'm using? As it says in the pink panel at the top of the page, you can check the Audacity version at Help > About Audacity... . I renamed a saved aup file after working on it over some days. When I returned, the tracks were...

Re: Windows 7 - Audacity 2.0.4 - cannot find FFmpeg
My program was working fine relating to FFMpeg until about a week ago. Now it will not import m4a files and says it cannot locate the ffmpeg file. I browse to the file, select it, click OK, then try to import the ffmpeg file and it still says the same thing. Are you talking here about browsing to F...

Re: File Error using the Equalisation effect.
It could be just a random problem that Audacity occasionally has writing XML files to its data folder. You may want to show hidden files and folders and go to the C:UsersUserAppDataRoamingAudacity folder in File Explorer. While Equalization is open, you could try renaming EQCurves.xml to EQCurves.ml...

Re: Vamp plugins not found
Yes, I restarted Audacity I'm working with vamp-sdk and have tried example plugins among others. I compiled these http://vamp-plugins.org/plugin-doc/vamp-example-plugins.html For me, on 32-bit Linux, downloading the 32-bit versions: 2. Simple Fixed Tempo Estimator 3. Simple Percussion Onset Detecto...

Re: Equalized music over several Files
If you use the Audacity ReplayGain plug-in and you are making an audio CD, export to 44.1kHz 16-bit WAV (the same underlying PCM format as audio CDs). Do this even if you are starting with MP3s to avoid the 2nd lossy compression step. That would obviously be best but if you want the MP3 files thems...

Re: Opening song file-sluggish
If you scroll through other folders than iTunes, does it make any difference? I don't have the same problem there. Have you tried scrolling through Mac file open dialogues in other applications, like TextEdit or GarageBand? I've been suing Logic all day with no hiccups I assume you meant "usin...

Re: [Crashes] 2.0.6 on OS/X 10.10.0
I had installed it from the DMG, and (IIRC) just dragged it across to whatever shortcut is shipped in the DMG -- that's Audacity that does that, right? If you mount the DMG then, inside the DMG, drag the Audacity icon to the shortcut for /Applications, that creates a folder for Audacity in /Applica...
