Re: Opening song file-sluggish
Honestly i didn't look at all the links you provided but the four or five that I did look into didn't say anything that seemed to pertain to my difficulties. For example, in iTunes Preferences, try not sharing your library on your local network and try not syncing devices automatically. I downloade...

Re: Recording with Windows Wasapi
Please note all Audacity versions have two dots in the version number, so "2.0.4" for example. If you really have "2.04" then you did not get it from us. The funny thing is that WDM-KS (audacity 2.04) only gives a sligthly reduced "latency" compared to DirectSound (202 ...

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
I changed the name in Audacity, did not cut and paste. So did you do File > Save Project As... ? If so you have two projects, the one with the original name, and the one with the name you chose in Save Project As. If that is what you did, does only one project have missing block files, or both? Ple...

Re: Audio gaps after splitting track
I'm playing the WAVs on a Cambridge Audio NP30 network player that does support gapless playback (confirmed with other files). Other files in what format, bit depth and sample rate, written by what applications? Are you loading files on the player or network streaming them to or from it? Networks h...

Re: Audio gaps after splitting track
I'm running Audacity on OS X Yosemite. Please be aware that Audacity 2.0.6 and earlier do not officially support Yosemite. 2.1.0 will provisionally support Yosemite. If you are not already doing so I recommend you subscribe at the bottom of http://audacityteam.org to receive an e-mail when we relea...

Re: Recording with Windows Wasapi
This is how Audacity works with MME, Directsound and WDM-KS , but not with Wasapi. That's because the only part of WASAPI that is implemented in Audacity 2.0.6 is the "loopback" input. The "loopback" input is a special "virtual" input and is similar in function to the ...

Re: Recording with Windows Wasapi
It is looking like that in the next release of Audacity that we may enable the inputs other than loopback for WASAPI. If we do, there may be bugs in recording from real inputs under WASAPI, and loopback recording behaviour may change on some machines. That's why we have not released WASAPI non-loop...

Re: Static Recording PROBLEM
No problem. All computers need rebooting some times - it isn't just Windows that suffers without a regular reboot.fonky1 wrote:i feel stupid. i tried those things and nothing worked. then i tried restarting the computer and it's fine. sorry to waste your time!

Re: Opening song file-sluggish
Perhaps if you have any non-Apple apps, try File > Open and scrolling through iTunes folders in those apps. It's possible you may find the same issue which does not occur in Apple apps. Unfortunately I don't have any other appropriate programs that are not from Apple i can use to test this out. Any...

Re: Sound Device Setup
This might mean Pulse Audio is broken. Pulse Audio is the system audio mixing device (oversimplifying it). Sometimes installing Pulse Audio Volume Control (pavucontrol) can help, or you may want to reinstall Pulse Audio itself. Open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get install pavucontrol If you need ...
