If you try AAC again, make sure you have FFmpeg from here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown.

Re: Audacity is Allready Running glitch

I am using a 2013 iMac with Yosemite installed, and it was working for two months with Yosemite until yesterday when I got the same message. I looked for the audacity.cfg file and it was not there. The Audacity folder was empty strangely. Perhaps could anyone offer a download of the config file so ...

Re: Losing first half of recording

OK then Norton presumably deleted the "d00" subfolder for you.

Let Norton know about this problem. You're paying $$ for it after all.

Re: .AU files should be named sequentially (Audacity crashed

Someone will correct me, but if you start the night by saving a project, it arms Audacity so it can do future saves very rapidly. It doesn't have to do all the housekeeping and file management. It just has to change a tag here and there. There isn't any speed difference between recording into an un...

Re: .AU files should be named sequentially (Audacity crashed

Is there ANY benefit to the highly convoluted file naming? The current "highly convoluted" system is actually very simple in terms of code (which does the work). Picking an unused random number is both easy and very fast and avoids needing to track which number was used last (and avoids o...

Re: .AU files should be named sequentially (Audacity crashed

So Audacity crashed after I just completed a 4 hour recording. More than a little annoying. Are you still on Windows Vista? Are you using Audacity 2.0.6 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows ? I opened it up and selected "Yes" to recover. It recovered okay and I went ahead and hit...

Re: Losing first half of recording

Version of Audacity and version of Windows? See the pink panel at the top of the page. How much disk space is there on C:? Has your IT manager put disk space quotas on the disk so that you can only use part of its space? Have you looked in "C:UsersBGBCAppDataLocalTempaudacity_tempproject1040e00...

Re: Audacity is Allready Running glitch

Hi, 2.0.6 does not support Yosemite, which might be part of the problem. If you installed new plugins, try removing them. Otherwise make sure Audacity is quit, open Finder, Go > Go to Folder and type: ~/Library/Application Support/audacity/ Open audacity.cfg in TextEdit. Select all the text and dele...
