Re: Audio files scrambled; project missing
it did not give me a recovery option If there is no recovery that means there is no AUTOSAVE file or it is corrupted. You could look in Users<your user name>AppDataRoamingAudacityAutoSave to check. You may have to show hidden files and folders . I was able to find the file in my documents using the...

Re: Recording one channel only
I have an ION TTUSB USB turntable connected to a Sony VIAO laptop running Windows 7. Although the legend below Audio Track indicates it is recording in stereo, when I click the Audio Track drop down, the Mono, Left Channel, Right Channel and Make Stereo Track choices are greyed out, and the Left Ch...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
You mean it does not tell you what it's doing if you already saved a project before you Timer Record? Eaxctamundo Nor does it tell you, or indicate in any way, when setting up the TR that if your project is pre-saved then it will save the project on completion (or interventional Stop). Would that n...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 not installing on Mac OS 10.10.2
I am an Admin. I have been opening the DMG. Then taking the Audacity folder on the DMG and copying it into my Applications folder. Then when I try to install I have problems. If the copy works, at that point you have installed Audacity. How are you executing Audacity, exactly? Did you try http://fo...

Obviously, but you could write a script to create/overwrite that file with your preferred settings when the user logs in.twinturbo wrote:Problem is that the "cfg" does not exist until they have started Audacity for he first time.

Re: Audacity filling up the /var/tmp directory in Ubuntu 14.
Thank you. Audacity wants to create a subdirectory /.audacity_temp/. For some reason Ubuntu does not like that name and it will not work (perhaps the period). This morning I tried just backspacing and deleting that portion of the directory name and now it works. So I have a drive on which I created...

Re: Orphans Abounding
It happened again with a new project! But it doesn't happen for us (usually). Do you remember the steps you took in that project? Was it a recording, or an imported WAV file? Did you do copy, paste or something else in that project? Did you close and reopen the project without closing Audacity? Did...

Re: Audacity filling up the /var/tmp directory in Ubuntu 14.
I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and Audacity 2.0.5. I am trying to set the directory for the new drive using Edit - Preferences - Difrectories in Audacity. Although I can see and select a directory I get an error. The error is "Free Space: unavailable - above location doesn't exist". Audacity alw...

Also is your USB drive formatted with FAT32 or NTFS? Usually USB drives are FAT32, but If yours is NTFS and you get the pro version (free trial) of xplorer2 and use View > Raw Contents, it should use the internal NTFS time stamps to time sort the files. The NTFS time stamps are accurate enough to i...
