Re: Selecting recording device via USB

I received Audacity with my turntable Akai ATT05U. Same as NIKKEI NTT05U. On my previous OPS (Vista) I had no troubles recording via the USB cable and port on my PC. Ever since I upgraded from Vista I can't record via USB. Please describe the exact symptoms of that. Do you record a flat line? Or th...

Re: Create an Album

When I suggested to look in Explorer compare the files that display correctly and incorrectly in HUD, you can also right-click the files and choose Properties to compare the metadata. Check the properties of the files not the folders for metadata, but also check differences between the subfolder str...

Re: Long audio files

Perhaps this is out of the norm, but I have a 9 hour audio file that I'd like to save. It's been my past practice to export audio as a wav file. But I can only get 1.5 hours of length. What format will give me the ability to save the 9 hours? I'm using Windows 10. WAV and AIFF do not support more t...

Re: edit wav file create date

Some how I got the date in my computer wrong and it was transferred to my Olympus voice recorder yesterday. When I transferred the files from yesterday to my computer I noticed the transfer date was correct but the creation date was wrong. I was told that Audacity could edit these properties on the...

Re: running Audacity & another audio app simultaneously?

If Kontakt5 demands exclusive access to the sound card, he can't play audio in both applications at the same time. He could try selecting the sound device he's using on the Playback tab of Windows Sound . Click Properties, then on the Advanced tab, uncheck both "Exclusive Mode" boxes. If t...

Re: setting audacity as external audio editor in windows 8

Please be aware Danny is not a Forum Helper so is unlikely to answer. Do you have Movie Studio 13? Are you using Audacity as an external editor for another application? If so which application is that? If not, import a file, edit it, File > Export Audio..., make sure you are in the directory the fil...

Re: Recording Volume Low

By stereo input do you mean the headphone jack? It does but I thought that was a mono input? I tried using an RCA to 3.5mm jack from the booth out of the mixer to the mac headphone jack but It didn't recognise any signal coming in .. and then I added a TRS to TRRS adaptor to reverse the flow, which...

Re: cassette

well thank you, thank you, that worked, now I have severe echoes, but on the trail now, thanks. Are you sure that you are choosing the external microphone as Recording Device in Audacity? You should be aware that the mic port is generally unsuitable for connecting a tape deck. If it is just a mono ...

Re: Air pods not syncing with audacity HELP

Yes I can see them in the sound system on my computer and connect them, but when I start audacity, they are no there and there are no drop down options for them. So you think there is no way for audacity to connect? Audacity doesn't support bluetooth all that well. And you might have an old version...
