Re: Crackling Sound When Recording (No evidence of clipping)

20inch Imac early 2008: OSx 10.9.4 Audacity 2.06 Pretty sure got it from the DMG We do not make a "2.06" version. If that is not a typo, please obtain 2.0.6 from us here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . Don't record into a track that had previous audio that you have now deleted. Re...

Re: Gaps and Missing Audio

I hope we can get an update soon, i love the software otherwise. There will be a new Audacity 2.1.0 soon that will officially support Yosemite, but you shouldn't assume that Audacity is necessarily the cause unless you have tried other recording software and that doesn't have the problem. Also you ...

Re: Crazy amounts of noise

I have downloaded the ffmpeg software and it didnt make any difference I have just successfully imported an AIFF containing IMA4 into Audacity using FFmpeg, but be aware that by default Audacity will use its built-in importer for AIFF, which won't understand IMA4. Try File > Import > Audio..., then...

Re: Fixing clicking in existing recording

I'd like to salvage the first recording if possible. I'm going with "not possible", unless you fancy applying the Repair effect for every 52 milliseconds of damaged audio. The Repair effect can fix it pretty well (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/repair.html), but you will need to do ...

Re: Overdubbing: Not hearing live vocal playback in USB head

I've started out by using stereo mix as the microphone to record streaming audio playing through my sound card. Then by following the tutorials I have been able to use a USB headset to add vocal tracks on top of the initial recording (pretty cool 8-) ) but I can't hear myself singing back through t...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0

Noel Casey's After Midnight show airs on Dublin City FM webstream every Monday night from Midnight to 2am. I usually manage the first half to three-quarters of an hour but can't manage "musician's hours" so go to bed before the show is over. You don't actually need TR to do that. All that...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0

Using TR, Audacity (rightly) locks you out, which prevents you from doing something that will mess up the recording. Whether or not the user should be allowed to amend the recording time while the recording takes place is another question (most VCRs don't allow that). This is a very good point and ...

Re: no choice for stereo when selecting USB PnP Sound Device

If you have issues with the description or functionality of Pyle Products you will need to ask them, or ask for a refund from the company who sold you the product. Your advice on using the mic jack also sounds practical if I can't get the USB to function properly. If I try this approach, would you e...

Re: Soucis pour enregistrer les sons du PC

Thanks... but I (we) use XP3 and I have not Wasapi but just MME or WindowsDirectSound in the first box... and the following procedure does not works. Please be careful with Windows XP. Microsoft are no longer officially supporting it, so it will be unpatched against any new security vulnerabilities...
