Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
or the <-------> in the Timeline which appears under the Selection Region in the Timeline. The Manual calls the <-------> under the Selection Region in the Timeline a "playback region". That is the usage that I think should be called "transport region" OK, I'm fine with changing...

Re: Make "Silence Audio" non-destructive
Why am I being quizzed about implementation details? Are you considering writing a proposal? I'm not, but if I read such a proposal I would be asking the same questions. The "feature request" is clear and straightforward is it not? Yes, but if the whole point is being allowed to undo the ...

If that is 32-bit SP2 you will need SP3 for the next 2.1.0 version of Audacity, and you should get SP3 for the extra security in any case. Y...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
I can't get a Quick-Play Region to even persist unless I lock I'm not talking about "Quick Play", which is, by definition, transitory. I'm talking about the normal <-------> line that indicates the current "transport region", as appears when you make a selection. Demonstration: ...

Re: Make "Silence Audio" non-destructive
But I don't think we'd want to turn the complete Envelope Tool on when someone used Silence Audio. No, I agree. Perhaps like this: By what method would you undo the non-destructive silence if you wanted to unsilence it without undoing the edits you did after silencing? Would it be a label, or some ...

Re: GSnap vst plugin is not shown in effects
GSnap 32-bit appears in Audacity in our computers too.
Search your computer for GSnap.dll. Delete all copies of it, except the 32-bit version extracted from the ZIP file in the link I gave.

Re: Make "Silence Audio" non-destructive
how would you make it obvious in the interface that it was non-destructive? Yet to be decided, but one possibility would be to make it a feature of the Amplitude Envelope. I wasn't sure if you were considering that, but it would seem the most intuitive way to me. But I don't think we'd want to turn...

Re: Gaps and Missing Audio
As for the version of Audacity, sorry I'm a newbie around these parts. I updated Audacity recently hoping it would make the issue disappear, so I think it is the latest one. Audacity > About Audacity... (as requested in the pink panel at the top of the page). Interface drivers are the most recent. ...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
In what other way you can you use it as a Record Region? Erm... you mean, other than when recording? :? I don't 'get' what you mean. I mostly use it for "punch in" recording (multi-track style). I mean I don't understand how you are using a Play Region ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/m...

Re: Make "Silence Audio" non-destructive
Not saying it's a bad idea, but how would you make it obvious in the interface that it was non-destructive? Would you remove it from the Undo Stack?
Why focus on "Silence Audio" rather than also consider e.g. Fade In/Fade Out?
