Re: Sync with cloud services
Sometimes users post Audacity projects on Dropbox for us. The ones I have downloaded have been complete. I suggest you sync with a local folder that you have complete control over. Don't save projects to a temporary location that clean up tools can interfere with. Where do the losses occur, locally ...

Re: MP3-Export
I tried to export my audacity project as mp3-file. Therefore I had to install the lame encoder what I did. But the file created is not an mp3 it is a "SEITE"-file which obviously cannot be imported into iTunes. What is my mistake? Presumably you added a dot into the file name before "...
Re: mixing
is it possible to continue to see mixing board and adjust volumes while song is playing Yes it should be, though I'm not sure if Windows provides a way to keep one window "on top" "Always on top" is not built into Windows but there are a number of applications you can download t...

Re: iTunes Import Problem
When I imported my audio files before, under "Import/Export" in Preferences, I had it set up so Audacity would "make a copy of uncompressed audio files before editing" and "normalize all tracks in project". This would result in the bizarre glitch that turned the import...

Re: Keep music continuous from track to track
So you are playing a file and not burning a CD? Yes I think FLAC and OGG support chapter extensions ( http://wiki.xiph.org/Chapter_Extension ) but Audacity does not. You can export Audacity labels demarcating each track as a labels.txt file, follow http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Cue_sheets to con...

Re: Not recording any sound
After checking the connections between the turntable and my MacBook, which were secure, and then trying the Rescan Audio Devices in the Transport, (of which I couldn’t see anything happening when I did the rescan option), now I get an almost immediate Pause after I press the Start button. Repeated ...

Re: playback with only weird sound
I tried the things you mentioned above but still fails to record. Is it the USB mic that fails to record? If so, you have to get Windows to see it first. See the green box "Detecting USB and Firewire devices" here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#fl...

Re: Eliminate "Export Selection"
Also we discussed this before if I remember, so why ask it again? I'll count Koz's vote but it will have a dismissive "devcomment" underneath it per Steve's comment (which is how we handle negative votes).

Re: Tools settings
A common feature in graphic programs (Gimp, Photoshop, Inkscape, etc.) is to have a selection of tools, and some sort of panel that has settings/options for that tool. Thus the number of tools required is reduced, while at the same time increasing the versatility of the tools. A similar approach co...
