Re: Questions about Truncating Silence

Thanks steve for that helpful information. When I select all it always selects the empty space too. Is there a way to select all and only select the audio? Not if the tracks are different lengths, because the selection must be the same in all tracks. If you are processing many tracks and you can't ...

Re: Selecting recording device via USB

Regarding the recording, I do get blue waves. But left and right are identical/mono. That is probably fixable. By the system clock, right-click over the Speaker icon, choose Recording Devices then right-click over USB Audio Codec > "Properties". On the "Advanced" tab, in the &qu...

Re: Variable tempo change?

Being able to specify corresponding points between tracks and have one that has its tempo changed between selections so that the marks align in time. The key questions are: - Are the tempo changes variable throughout the track? - Do you want the changes to be automatic, so you don't have to mark th...

Re: Audacity will freeze upon launching

If it could help anyone else, I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security, and previous versions had never blocked Audacity (and this one just randomly did it). Adding the whole Audacity folder from your Program Files to exclusions under "threats and exclusions" will do the trick. Thank you for...

Re: Small mouse pointer on Windows 10

I do love using Audacity, it's a fabulous tool, but it would be awesome if I could make full use of what is a very nice screen. Has there been any further consideration to addressing this issue? Audacity is a free to use project and all the developers are volunteers. So unfortunately, no. Gale

Transport > Rescan Audio Devices to see the Yeti. Audacity does not automatically detect devices you plug in after Audacity is already running.

Re: Anyone know how to check file size BEFORE exporting?

Example: 10 minutes at 128 kbps 10 minutes = 600 seconds 128 kbps = 128 / 8 = 16 kB per second Estimated file size = 600 x 16 = 9600 kB = 9.6 MB In case it isn't clear, the division by 8 is because file sizes like kB and MB are measurements in bytes, and there are 8 bits in a byte. See Bits and Byt...

Re: Variable tempo change?

I have been able to effect the change I wanted using the time track, although I think my original suggestion for the interface would make it a LOT easier :D and quicker. I'm glad you made your changes. Is this what you mean: What I 'm envisioning is a tool that will allow me to mark a number of cor...
