Re: [File Compression] Exported aac file too large
You can still though use Opus support in FFmpeg if your FFmpeg version is from http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown. You can then import Opus files just by dragging them into Audacity. Is that the same for Mac OS X with all FFmpeg versions from that link? Y...

Re: Audacity exported WAV file, RIFF format issue
I exported a WAV file (44100 samples/sec, 2 Bytes/sample, 1 channel, 1226752 samples) from Audacity. You're saying that. Audacity calls 2 Bytes/sample "16-bit". Which version of Audacity are you using? Exactly what choices did you use when you exported? I have written software that reads ...

Re: problems with upgrading
I recently upgraded from Apple OS Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6 i think) to OSX 10.8.5. Now I can't open my previous version of Audacity. When I try to open it I get a message saying it can't be opened because Power PC applications are no longer supported. If you were using a PPC version of Audacity 1.2, ...

Re: Newbie trying to share files - they won't open
The characters after the final dot in a file name tell Windows what type of file it is. If you add a dot in the file name, add another one at the end followed by the intended extension, such as .wav.HilaryLG wrote:it turns out you can not use a DOT in the file name. ??

Have ButchA and wildwin looked carefully at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#sync ? You might find that choosing recording hosts and sample rates carefully might help. Make sure you are using the same device for playback and recording, and make sure you have fo...

Re: Recording voicemail from my android phone onto my comput
If the recordings are on the voicemail server you may need to install a recording app on your phone so you can play the files and record them to a file on your phone. Then transfer the files to the computer via USB cable, or if necessary, play them on your phone and record them into Audacity. See ht...

Audacity does not currently support Opus. Re: I don't know what noise is this.
I don't understand what you're asking for "pink panel", Sorry I'm still new about these kind of things. It's the pink panel at the top of the page. Please state which version of Windows you are using, the exact three-section version of Audacity from Help > About Audacity and whether you o...

Re: Overdubbing: Not hearing live vocal playback in USB head
You "should" be able to leave Audacity set to record from "Stereo Mix" without it mattering if you plug in the headset. If you plug in the headset after launching Audacity then by definition Audacity won't know anything about the headset because it does not check for new devices...
