Re: SOUND WAVES BUNCH TOGETHER!
You can realign the recorded track after you stop recording using Time Shift Tool (press F5 on your computer keyboard). If you do a Latency Test to measure the recording latency then you can set that latency as a correction value at Edit > Preferences..., Recording Section, "Latency Correction&...

Re: 2 second of silence
It sounds like a buffering problem. In particular, Audacity's default buffer of 100 milliseconds currently seems too high for some modern Mac's. So you could go Audacity > Preferences... then look in the "Recording" section and try reducing "Audio to buffer". Look at buffering se...

Re: Can't open Audacity on my Mac
Hello! I downloaded Audacity and had no issues using it for a few days. Then I closed out of the program and tried to reopen it the next day. It gave me an error message that says "The system has detected another copy of Audacity is running. Running two copies of Audacity simultaneously may ca...

Re: Moved .AUP files, need help recovering sound!
I'm running windows 7, and audacity 2.0.6. I have a collection of audacity projects and their respective data files in a folder named 'audacity files'. This is where I always kept them, no problems here. Recently I created a sub-folder for songs I wanted finished, just for organization. After movin...

Re: Labels to metadata
This is more a question than a feature request (at the moment). There is a feature request listed on the wiki: Labels include metadata (4 votes) - not a request for cue sheet support, instead this gives a way in compilation albums to pass other than track Title and Track Number to Metadata Editor D...

Re: Combining three 24 minute MP3 audio files
I appreciate the suggestions. Turns out I am guilty of being a newbie to this impressive software. I was able to connect all three MP3 files and save it (saw it on you tube). Only problem I wasn't able to stich them together properly. I tried to manually align the files and I got close but the over...

Re: Macros consisting of existing Audacity shortcuts
Personally I don't know a damn thing about scripting and I really don't care to learn because it just won't click into place. All I want is to record a macro for one purpose only. I convert a lot of sounds from mono to stereo. I'm not going to go further into that because it isn't relevant to the t...

Re: iTunes Import Problem
Okay, here's how the problem started: somehow, under "Extended Import Preferences", under "File extensions", there was no extension for the .m4a format. After checking the forum I linked to, I clicked "Add new rule" and added the extension for .m4a files back in. I don...
