Re: 2 second of silence
I'm running 2.0.6 on 10.10.2, an unapproved combination. I have the same symptoms as the OP when recording in via USB from a Behringer x32 console: I get a second or 2 of silence, a full-scale click only a cycle or two wide, and then everything's fine. This also happens when playing out from the Ma...

Re: TEAC TN300
Audacity won't officially support Yosemite until the next 2.1.0 release of Audacity, which we are working on.
Audacity does not see a USB device if you plug it in while Audacity is running. Try restarting Audacity with the TEAC connected.

Re: using OS X 10.7 its recording from the system mike
it records the music fine; but unlike Wiretap i am hearing background noise on the recordings, as though there's a second sound source it's picking up, and the twin red recording levels keep moving when i press the stop-record button, so it's still recording. That's should be impossible on Audacity...

Re: Lost audio after backup - Empty tracks
We have been working on a audio project for school. Did some voice recording and sound fx's. After we had done all recording I saved in audacity and closed the program. Back home I uploaded the audacity file to google drive so the rest of the team was able to use it too. Completely forget to upload...

Re: Multi Track question
Lastly, when I export all tracks i noticed that Audacity adds automatically few seconds of silent? MP3 adds a few milliseconds of silence. That's just a characteristic of MP3. There are gapless MP3 solutions, but I believe the player has to support it. You shouldn't be getting several seconds of si...

Re: Question Missing dll
This is not an Audacity problem, nonetheless if you need help, please answer the questions in the pink panel at the top of the page so that we have some information to go on. If you use the latest Audacity 2.0.6 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows then when you add a new VST effect, reques...

Re: Can't open Audacity on my Mac
FWIW: My 2.0.6 on Yosemite (which, yes, I know I'm not supposed to be running here) not only noticed that lock file, but gets caught in a requires-force-quit loop if it finds one; the splash screen is overtop the dialog, and you *can't* OK it. Just a datapoint.t So are you saying that you tried to ...

Re: How do I stop Audacity from saving a backup?
Every time I open a file and then save it as the same name Audacity saves a backup copy...i.e. If I open 001.wav and save it again as 001.wav Audacity will save the original as 001-old.wav, 001-old1.wav...etc. I would rather is NOT save old copies. You asked this question over two years ago. See ht...

Re: Record audio from YouTube video - Windows 7
I have to turn the volume up really high in order to hear anything on my computer. In the old days, I would have found an internal sound mix window to adjust -- inside "Sound" in the Control Panel. But can't find one on this computer. There should be a speaker icon by the system clock. Cl...

Re: Recording album at max but no clips
If Audacity is set to a project rate of 44100, I found out that my Sound Blaster card actually captures at 48k and internally converts to 44.1. In so doing, the clips have been converted to a value less than Audacity would display with red bars. Changing to 48000 project (capture) fixed my problem....
