Re: Audacity 2.0.6 missing from "Open With" context menu
I followed the link... I downloaded, renamed, ran the file and it removed Audacity from the list I usually get when I "Search Computer" I browsed to Audacity.exe and selected it, but the box to "Always Use" was still greyed out. I rebooted, and it's still greyed out. If you neve...

Re: Recording audio from line-in of soundcard
It seems to have problem recording the emulator though I don't know really where the problem is.Emulator? Soundcard? Audacity? Way of recording? What version of Windows and Audacity? See the pink panel at the top of this page. How are you actually recording now - with a cable between line-out and l...

Re: Audacity 2.0.6 missing from "Open With" context menu
No matter how many times I select Audacity from the "search computer" results, it never "sticks" If you ever added Audacity 1.3 Beta to "Open with" for some format, that old entry is stopping Windows adding Audacity 2.0.6. In that case you can download and run a .REG r...

Re: Muffled Playback Quality
I have been using Audacity for just under a year now, and I have had perfect playback quality all that time. However, as of today, my audio playback has been giving a "muffled" sound quality. Before, my audio playback was perfect, exactly the way my music players have played it. I have tr...

Re: How do I stop Audacity from saving a backup?
You could have simply answered the question I only "happened" to see your old post when searching for something else, but I did also answer: Edit > Preferences..., then the Import / Export section and set Audacity to "Make a copy of uncompressed audio files before editing (safer)&quo...

Re: Annoying clicks...
When you have more time you could perhaps try experimenting further, perhaps taking the buffer as low as it will go without the sound breaking up. That definitely works for some people.303creative wrote:Tried altering the buffer setting with no difference.
Thanks for the report.

Re: How2 Record/Save The Best Quality Internet Radio Music?
I believe WASAPI Loopback (Win7 & Win8) is purely digital so it should capture the decompressed audio stream with no further "damage". Yes the Windows WASAPI host in Audacity is digital capture (you must still turn off system sounds so they are not captured). That is a reasonable solu...

Re: How2 Record/Save The Best Quality Internet Radio Music?
What is the best (or maybe only) way to preserve as much quality as possible when recording streaming internet radio music and then saving to MP3 to transfer to my (brand-new) little portable MP3 player? Don't record it. If you actually have permission to record the songs, download them instead. Us...

Your user name has been changed to "headchef57". It is a bad idea to use your e-mail address as username on internet forums because spambots will harvest your address and send lots of spam to you. i have saved a file and when reopen it the file is not complete. it was a recording from a re...

Re: Is The Latest Audacity Compatible with OS 10.10?
2.0.6 does not officially support Yosemite. The next 2.1.0 version when released should do so. Several people have found 2.0.6 fine on Yosemite when recording LP's, but a few find crashes when opening a new project or saving or exporting. Those crashes are probably still in 2.1.0 but we have not bee...
