Re: String together/compile-multiple files?
Import all the files into Audacity, then Edit > Select > All if necessary then Tracks > Align Tracks > Align End to End . Then export in your chosen audio format and the snippets will play one after the other. WAV format is the best format for an audio CD. See Tutorial - Burning music files to a CD ...

Re: Error while opening sound device.
OK. I'm a complete newby to Audacity. I just downloaded the latest version ( 2.0.6 ) on my macbook and I'm trying to record live instruments through a mixer board into audacity with a microphone. If i set my input to internal mic everything works fine but when I set my input to the mixer board i ge...

Re: Sound fades to nothing! Please help!
Hi all, first post and need some help please. The recording I have is now fading away to nothing gradually over a period of about 15 minutes, just gets quieter and quieter. I have had a look at normalise and amplify but am not particularly tech savvy and need an idiots guide, not even sure if these...

Re: Audacity crashes every time I open a file
I did not realise it was a freeze rather than an unforced crash. Yosemite has a much reduced tendency to beachball compared to Mavericks in my experience, so I agree the beachballs are a concern. Can you give a path to one of these AUP files that causes a beachball, and as Koz says, is it a long pro...

Re: Just one file has no sound on just one computer?
Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono is a simpler solution than "Split Stereo to Mono then close the empty track", but Stereo Track to Mono has a disadvantage in your case in that it averages the two channels. So in your case Stereo Track to Mono makes the left channel quieter given the right cha...

Re: Auto Duck not working
Screenshot is attached. It sounds like it may be an issue with OSX 10.10.2 That screenshot shows you have selected all, as shown by the grey colouring. The yellow border around the first track shows it has focus, but Auto Duck cares about selection, not focus. So, have you tried unselecting the low...

Re: Audacity crashes every time I open a file
blistering level of condescension. All us tech support types start blowing fuses at typos in version numbers :) Gale, thanks for the Yosemite link. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same issue. Should I paste the crash report here or email Audacity? Please paste it here. Press the "Code"...

Re: Gang all the Gain controls together
I'll make a note of the two "votes" for this. Would you make that 3 votes. (one from me). I'd suggest this as a way of implementing it: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=271073#p271073 I believe you already voted, but not explicitly for the solution of adding a master slider t...

Re: Just one file has no sound on just one computer?
The file that plays is mono and the one that doesn't is stereo. As I already observed at http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=271185#p271185 , that stereo file only has audio in the left channel. So I still suggest you follow my recommendation to import the file into Audacity, Tracks > Ster...
