Re: Gang all the Gain controls together

If the track gain sliders don't physically move in response to a master fader, it could still perhaps "look" confusing to some, until they moved the master fader enough to hear the difference. In the current version, can you tell if a Gain slider is one or two dB off centre? Yes, if the p...

Re: Batch Processing iTunes Songs

WAV files are "free." They're uncompressed and you can work in them in Audacity with no trouble. Not so the M4A or AAC files. Those are going to go through the re-encoding step and pick up extra sound damage. I believe you can't mix them in a Chain (batch process) because Chains can't mak...

Re: Error while opening sound device.

Are you using Yosemite? 2.0.6 does not officially support it. Behringer don't seem to say what versions of OS X they support. You can try rebooting the computer. If you are on Yosemite you can try this 2.1.0 pre-release from the top of: http://www.audacity.homerow.net/index.php?dir=mac/&sort=dat...

Re: Computer shuts down when instrument is unplugged

We utilize audacity at our church, along with a Dell laptop to record our service. If at any time an instrument is unplugged, the entire system (computer)shuts down. We have the feed from our PA system running to the computer and aren't sure how to avoid this shutdown. If your laptop only has a mic...

Re: Copying left channel to right

"You can convert your existing tracks to Mono with the Drop-Down menus to the left of the track. Split stereo track to Mono. Delete the dead track." Sorry, you mean convert them to "Stereo"? Iam confused here. Use the Track Drop-Down Menu then choose "Split Stereo to Mono&q...

Re: Error message. Haven't touched a thing.

It only allows me to record when I put it on internal mic. And I'm trying to record a mixtape. Playing off my serato dj software. And sorry, but I can't locate the "record" tab to right click. What hardware are you using? If you bought a cheap controller without a Serato licence key then ...

Re: Just one file has no sound on just one computer?

So are you finding that mono Audacity recording is half the volume of stereo? Are you recording into only one channel of the AudioBox and is that box connected to the mixer board? Is it a USB wireless mic? I'm not really following how you have the audio recording set up. Right now the recording is ...

Re: Gang all the Gain controls together

I can understand some problems related to my request, such if one or more Gain control are near their lowest levels, not allowing for -4dB change. That is quite easily resolved . Currently the track Gain sliders have a centre position of 0 and a range of +/- 36 dB. Taking the idea of a "Master...

Re: Sound fades to nothing! Please help!

... It sounds like you have been affected by Windows enhancements ... The noise-reduction "enhancement" problem kicks-in in seconds, not "15 minutes". I agree that's how it should work, but when I first used Vista with a long discarded desktop I had exactly the described problem...
