Re: Recording on Optiplex 7010

If you only have one audio input port on the computer it will be a "mic" port and not suitable for connecting a loopback cable. So, please read the link Trebor showed you. Here it is again: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html#wasapi . Usi...

Re: Intermittant LOUD beep

"Latest versions" are usually malware if you download from an advertisement. You have to download explicitly Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . Audacity has a beep setting (off by default, in Interface Preferences) that beeps on completion of processes lasti...

Re: Variable tempo change?

Do you want the changes to be automatic, so you don't have to mark the bad parts? I don't see how that would be possible, so yes, the marks would always have to be made manually. Well, Capstan does it automatically. It's a reasonably common feature in DAW's to be able to drag a clip by its edges to...

Re: Chordino does not remain 'Enabled' [SOLVED]

As far as I'm concerned, this issue should be closed. I was able to rectify what I feel is a bug in Audacity by enabling Chordino and other Vamp plugins under the "NEW" section of the Plugin Manager. Topic marked [SOLVED] and locked (standard practice so other users don't jump in to it). ...

Re: Chordino does not remain 'Enabled'

Please try to use quotes properly so we don't have to spend time editing your posts to see who said what. I find it as easy as anything just to copy/paste the quote tags as needed.

Re: store default audio export settings in ".aup"-file

Can one open an Audacity project via command line with a custom settings path? Like audacity myProject.aup /c ..\settings\ ? No. Or are only the "hard coded" paths ("Portable Settings"/OS-specific AppData) possible? Yes. If so, do you plan adding such a feature in (near) future?...

Re: debug report

C:\Users\MAHABO~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Audacity_dbgrpt-1660-20170315T191358.zip is my debug report fix this There is no way we can help you unless you: a) attach the ZIP file so we can see it - see how to attach files to forum posts b) tell us exactly when Audacity crashes - after doing what actions ...

Line is the correct setting on the iMic. The Mic setting would be expected to distort or hum, because it is providing amplification that is already provided by the cassette deck.
