Re: How to recover data after renaming file?
No, Gale, I didn't use Finder to rename my Audacity project. I don't know what gave you that impression. I renamed it right there within Audacity. I had my Audacity project open and just went to File > Save As and saved it as the file name with the word "copy" typed onto it at the end. Th...

Re: Compiling with ASIO
this is for a community project and I have no intention of distributing. It's driving me NUTS! Perhaps you should flash your "evil" smiley at Steinberg? If it's a community project it sounds like you might end up distributing ASIO-enabled builds of Audacity almost by definition. Le...

Re: How to recover data after renaming file?
All I know is that I was working on a project and then saved it with a new name, and now I can't open the project with that new name because it says "Can't find the project data folder" . If you must do rename or backup by hand, you have to rename or copy the AUP file, rename or copy the ...

Re: How to recover data after renaming file?
Yes. Don't. Don't rename or make backups in Finder or file manger applications. Use File > Save Project As... in Audacity.EricAloha wrote:Hi, I am using Audacity 2.02 on Mac 10.6.
Yesterday I saved the file I was working on with a new name, thinking that way I would have a backup copy. Bad idea.

Re: Project data files disappeared randomly
Are you making copies of the project using Explorer? That can cause this problem if you make the copies in the same folder that the original AUP file and _data folder are in. AUP file and _data folder must have the same name, and the AUP file must say inside it that it points to the correct _data fo...

Re: successfully merge mp3 files
As for how to import multiple files, audacity opens them as in picture 1. E 'can make them open as in picture 2? Sorry I don't understand. Do you want the files to import above each other into the same Audacity window, but import in a different order? You cannot customise that - Audacity always imp...

Re: Menuitems "Quick Help" and "MAnual" show HTML-code
This is what I see in the manual folder: manualimages88fwikipedia.png no index.html There are two "manual" folders. That image should be two levels down inside the "manual" folder that is inside the "help/manual" folder. In Explorer, open the folder where you have Auda...
