Thanks for the report. Please say exactly what you do in Audacity before the crash occurs, including the menu, shortcut or mouse actions. Numbered steps are good.

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 - Changing filenames
Win 7 Home Basic - Audacity 2.1.0 -- After having played an audio file in Audacity, I close it in order to give it a new name through Windows Explorer but this manager refuses to do it saying "Cannot perform task because file is opened (although I had just closed it through Audacity's menu Fil...

Re: Unable to record on Windows 7
Hello! I am unable to record audio through the inbuilt microphone in my laptop on Audacity (Windows 7, 64-bit). Are you aware of how dreadful that quality can be? I had no problems last December, only had to click record. But now, my microphone works Is this still your internal mic or another one? ...

Re: recording 174 Mb file size with 3 or 4-minute tracks
I will spend another day recording and trying to find the file size and time in order to meet the requirements so customers can use whatever format their devices require and still copy to a CD, if they need to. Audiobook listeners (and I am one) want simply to download and listen. The only way your...

Re: record from an external cd player to my computer
My memory fails me at times. This might not be something that should be on this board if so please feel free to disregard. I have able in the past to record from an external cd player to my computer, can't get to work. I run the line from line out on my player to the line in on the back of my compu...

Re: recording 174 Mb file size with 3 or 4-minute tracks
170 MB is nearly three hours at Audacity's default 128 kbps MP3 bit rate, and longer at lower bit rates (1 minute takes about 1 MB at 128 kbps). At 192 kbps MP3, 1 minute takes about 1.5 MB. So 170 MB at either 128 kbps or 192 kbps would produce a file that is already much longer than an audio CD (u...

Re: How to remove background voices from tracks
Also you may be able to reduce the problem in future by recording farther apart and setting the mics to "cardioid" position if they support that.

Re: Cannot Record When "Software Playthrough" Is Off
It shouldn't be necessary to use WASAPI for recording Blue Yeti - until Audacity 2.1.0 WASAPI was not available for recording from physical inputs. What project rate are you using bottom left of Audacity? Blue's native sample rate is 48000 Hz, so it is usually best to record at that rate and to have...

Re: recording 174 Mb file size with 3 or 4-minute tracks
Generally I'm very unclear what your target format is - an MP3 file, multiple MP3 files, an MP3 data CD or what? How many minutes do you want on the CD?

Re: recording 174 Mb file size with 3 or 4-minute tracks
Koz will probably answer you and knows more about audio books than I. It would be good to have information in one place but I expect the answers are already elsewhere in this board of the Forum. Anyway, just to state one thing - you can't use MP3 if you want one file with chapters because MP3 doesn'...
