Re: Suddenly Exporting is 100X Longer
I vaguely recall hearing of a minor bug for some users when exporting in some formats, where the time countdown for the export is wrong, so that it looks like a 2 minute export will take 3 hours, but if you let it run it completes in 2 minutes. I don't recall other details, but try letting the expo...

Re: audio tape to MP3
Hi , I'm using WinXP to transfer audio tapes to MP3 files on computer , but am getting over tracking or double tracking on the files . Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong or how I may correct this problem . Thanks . Are you recording one side or one song, then pressing Stop? If so the next...

Re: Losing narration when copying music
Audacity does not open files. It imports their audio into a project. So any copy and pasting must be done in the project. I created narration by using Audacity, saved it. Then I opened another file and imported the music. I copied the music from that file and tried to paste in the file with the narr...

Re: Variable tempo change?
As described, those are linear changes within each section, are they not? So Change Speed could do it, and could do so most conveniently by setting the new length, but you would have to do it section by section in as many passes as it takes. This could change because we have a longer term aim to imp...

I added your "vote" for this to our list of feature requests.qwertquadrat wrote:Yes, that would be perfect.Gale Andrews wrote:Would it help if when you imported an audio file or opened a project, the Audacity export path changed to the path the file or project came from? It is possible we'll add that feature.

Re: unable to create these tones
As I said, we will not discuss these theories on Audacity Forum. We can only tell you how to do something that these theories may tell you to do. Please use your favourite search engine to find forums or chat rooms where you can discuss these theories with believers. Gale why do or why dont ?? binau...

Re: Win7 can barely hear recording because of static
The digital mic is likely to be a built-in mic, so it sounds like you still have not enabled the external mic in Windows Sound. Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices". Right-click anywhere there in empty space and choose "Show disabled d...

Re: unable to create these tones
Why do you want to create binaural beats in the first place, if not to affect your mind? ;) I am not a "pro" and I know nothing and believe nothing about brainwave entrainment. There are forums online though where you may be able to discuss the theories involved. Gale oh my god really ??? ...

Re: Recording on Optiplex 7010
It seems odd to me that the newer computer will not do likewise. What am I missing? The newer computer's audio-driver-software may be missing something called "StereoMix" aka "WaveOut", which is the sound from the speakers, which was available on XP machines. Or the newer comput...

Re: Intermittant LOUD beep
OK, it's NOT coming from any Windows sound source, I disabled them all except the speakers. I recorded a few seconds and inserted a 500 hz noise from inside audacity after the self generated tone. Other applications than those listed in Windows Sound may make noises. Are you sure the beep is not so...
