Re: Just flatlines while trying to record a song playing on
Strange, it worked for a while but then reverted back to the latency problem. I've unchecked everything in transport, my settings are Wasapi, speaker(loopback) etc.... The "etc" does not tell us what the playback device and channels are. Try Speakers for playback device and stereo channel...

Re: Ezcap USB Cassette Capture, Audacity & Static
Thank you Gale for informing me of my outdatedness. However, upgrading it to 2.1.0 did not resolve the static occurrences. Experimenting with low "Audio to Buffer" size likewise did not remove the static. I tried 0ms, 3ms, 30ms and the default 100ms. I strongly believe the problem lies wi...

Re: scan des VST
At the origin of this problem, there is a fact that I try to use VST Novaflash in Audacity 2.1.0. A VST as ERSATZ for example. The problem is that under Windows Vista, Audacity bug and has to close as soon as we edit a file with this VST. On the other hand, there is no problem to install it in Auda...

Re: Recovering crashed project
Sorry, but that is just the same log file again that would be seen after you tried to recover the project but got the invalid token error. Please tell us exactly what you did after the project recovered without waveforms. Did you close the project and save it with no waveforms? Or have you left the ...

Re: FFmpeg Library not found - Audacity 2.1.0
Thanks. I see the latest FFmpeg is 2.6.1. Is that not recommended? As it says on http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown , FFmpeg 2.4.x and later is not supported except for command-line export using the (external program) choice. This means that if you want t...

Re: Input from audio cassette
What do you currently want to record that is flatlining - a mic or the USB cassette device? You have to use Audacity's Device Toolbar to select the playback and recording devices you want to use. If you want to record the USB cassette deck, make sure Windows is recognising it. You should be able to ...

Re: resetPrefs.txt
Understood. Thanks for the info. Everything is fine now. However, I have one more question. I am not a programmer. Could you educate me under what situation you would use the release version and the debug version of audacity? It seems to me both record and play with the same behavior. Debug means t...

Re: FFmpeg Library not found - Audacity 2.1.0
I updated to Audacity 2.1.0. Preferences says FFmpeg library not found. Clicking Locate... it appeared right away. I clicked OK, but looking again it says not found. What's happening? If you updated from Audacity 2.0.5 or earlier, you need a new FFmpeg 2.2.2 version, as it says at the top of the Re...
Re: editing
I downloaded a tape recording That wording is not clear. Did you record from a USB tape deck? Or did you record from a cassette deck connected to a USB record player? Are you using Windows 8, or is this a different computer to your last one? What version of Audacity? Please see the pink panel at th...

Re: Can't hear playback on Audacity 2.0.1 on Win 7
Audacity 2.0.1 is not the latest version, it is several years old. I suggest you uninstall it, run an overnight deep virus check, then when your computer is clean, install Audacity 2.1.0 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I've got IDT High Definition Codec as the input, Speakers/Headpho...
