If you press SPACE (spacebar) to play and it's still too fast then the problem is how it was recorded.
Is it a USB cassette deck? Make sure your Audacity project rate bottom left is 44100 Hz.

Re: Underwater sound
Audacity 2.0 is several years old. It is not the cause of your problem but I suggest you update to Audacity 2.1.0 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.

Re: Can't hear playback on Audacity 2.0.1 on Win 7
this is a snippet of Richard Clayderman that sounded perfect on Windows Media Player AND VLC. As you'll hear, it now sounds like it was on a tape recorder and te tape got twisted in the mech., can thnink of no other way of describing it. And if I record my own stuff from QSE, it sounds exactly the ...

What do you think of this .xml file created by Audacity? It is corrupted. I did look at it. The exported XML file is correct - if you change the effect settings then import the XML file, the settings change back to those exported. The "chunk" section of the XML file does not need to be hu...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing on Macbook Pro

Re: does not save the complete file
none of those are true with this file. I used the player to create the file, and after the creation, the file was too large to completely fit on screen, it only saved and exported the part that was on the screen (which was only around 6 min) As explained we don't make an Audacity version that has a...

Re: Static from computer sound source on recorded playback..
I am using Audacity 2.1.0 with Win 7-64 bit desktop computer with a logitec dynamic mic plugged into the sound card for a C-media PCI audio device. I have been using Audacity for five years in prior PC's to record Karoke output, both directly from mp3/cdg files played through a VLC player as well a...
