Re: Lost sound in saved .wav file

Thank you for your reply. Let me clarify my situation, the file plays in Windows Media Center, but it does not play in Audacity. The file size of the Audacity (.au) file is 567 MB I am guessing you are saying that the _data folder for the Audacity project is that size. When I tried to reopen the .w...

Re: Label Tracks

At any time you can click the name of the label track (by the downward-pointing arrow) and choose "Move Track to Top". If you don't see that choice, grab the latest Audacity 2.1.0 from http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html . If you want the label track at the top, don't use COMMAND + B to a...

Re: VST Echomaniav1_2

Thanks for the report. I don't see a crash on Windows 7. If I play the whole track with the effect open, Audacity playback freezes on 100% CPU when the end of the track is reached then it is necessary to force quit Audacity. The effect should be OK if you stop playback before the end of the selectio...

Re: scripts in Audacity 2.1.0

If when you apply the Chain you choose "Apply to Files..." then the whole of the file is affected by the commands in the Chain. A few Nyquist plugins which you can add to Audacity can process the whole selection but only act on part of it, for example Trim Silence . If when you apply the C...

Re: Mic won't be seen );

Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and let us know the requested information. Are they USB headsets? If so, try quitting Audacity, then open /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup and on the Input side, select the specific headset you want to use. Notice the setting for sample rate ...

Re: Audacity keeps crashing on Macbook Pro

Are you using or have just used an effect when you are editing? Are you zooming in/out or playing audio, causing the window to scroll? Let us know if disconnecting the webcam makes any difference per Cyrano's suggestion. Hi, yip, using effects, but not many, and I am zooming and playing. The webcam...

Re: RAW Data Import - Audio distorting

I am trying to import an aiff. file as Raw data because it cannot be played. I recorded the file by outputting sound from Max MSP. After I import the file, it is really distorted, like it is clipping throughout. When I recorded it from Max MSP the levels were fine, so why is this the case after it ...

Audacity 2.1.0: FFmpeg required for MP4/M4A/MOV/ALAC import

Audacity 2.1.0 may not be able to import MP4, M4A, MOV or ALAC files unless you install the FFmpeg library. After installing FFmpeg, use File > Import > Audio... or File > Open... and choose the "FFmpeg-compatible files" file type before selecting the file(s) to import. This problem is alr...
