Re: how to - hear recording track with other recorded tracks
Please see the pink panel at the top of this page. It's much easier to help with device specifics if we know your operating system and version of Audacity. Having recorded a drum track through a Lexicon Alpha Desktop Recording Studio into Audacity, and being able to hear it in the speakers, how does...

Re: reverse delay (5s max)
Rather than to change forum, I answers this message on the same forum. I shall change forum another time. That is good, thank you. I cannot has to remove the file (pluginregistry.cfg). As soon as I open Audacity, the file is automatically created. Yes it is intended that the file is recreated. Ther...

Re: Error compiling 2.1.0
Unless you need to distribute Audacity or libsoxr, sudo make install would be much simpler. Yes it is simpler, but I also quite like to use CheckInstall because it's simpler to cleanly uninstall, without needing to keep the original build tree in the home directory. It also provides a bit of a safe...

Re: 'Export Audio' will always default to .aiff extension
If you need more details, just ask. If you compile Audacity from our source code against the supported wxWidgets 2.8.12 the problem won't occur, as far as I know. If that is the case then please report the issue to Debian as a problem with the way they have built the Audacity 2.0.6 package: Debian ...

Re: Cannot open any file in Audacity
I think I was having the same problem but I found that it is apparently because I was trying to open the file from the iPhoto library (as the video was from my iPhone and I imported into iPhoto) I exported the file from iPhoto and it is working now. Thanks. Please also see Audacity 2.1.0: FFmpeg re...

Re: Audacity freezes recording after 3-4 seconds
Try a higher audio to buffer setting in Audacity, even if you don't match the Focusrite setting with it.

Re: Error compiling 2.1.0
It's for another thread most likely, but I noticed that when I execute 2.1.0 from a command line, I can get a global menu with the Ubuntu Unity desktop, but when I execute 2.1.0 using the Ubuntu Dash, the global menu does not work. (2.0.6 on the other hand worked correctly in either case). Maybe it...

Re: Error compiling 2.1.0
Which version of libsoxr did you install? I compiled 0.1.1 and then made a deb package using checkinstall and installed it. I did not run ldconfig after installing it. You could still try ldconfig. Where are you executing ./audacity from? The build folder, or have you installed Audacity and are exe...

Plus I think the "coffee" joke in the action message ought to be something more staid. Gale I had to look that one up... "Something that is staid is dignified, respectable — possibly even boring, like a staid dinner party that is heavy on the important guests but light on the laughs....
