Re: Hopelessly Idiotic - Dictaphone Help!

Many thanks. I managed to get the old version of Audacity working but, as you say, the recording's awful. I don't suppose you know of any software that could enhance the quality? Is the recording too loud, clipped with flat topped blue waves? If so you cannot repair more than the slightest damage o...

Re: first 27 minutes missing

The most likely explanation is that you installed Norton or some other cleanup application and are allowing it to delete your recorded files in the Audacity temporary folder. In the Audacity menu, choose Edit > Preferences... then "Directories" to see the location of your Audacity temporar...

Re: Unbalanced channels

Please give your version of Audacity and Windows (see the pink panel at the top of this page). Yes although it is hardly a good solution you can use the Audio Track Dropdown Menu to Split Stereo Track then delete the left channel's track. There is Effect > Clip Fix... which may help with reconstruct...

Re: Recordings at 192 kHz very faulty

But you may know that Windows supports USB Audio Class 1 only so that 192 kHz is not possible. This is why up to 48 kHz our interface acts as a USB Audio Class 1 interface. All sample rates up to 96 kHz work on all systems (Windows up to 48 kHz) fine. There is no sign yet if Windows 10 will finally...

Re: MP4 from Youtube short-loaded using FFMPEG

Not here; on my MBP with 10.10.2, and Firefox 37.0.2 (and flashplayer 17.0.0.69), it plays through there, to the end. For me (also Firefox 37.02 and Shockwave Flash player 17.0.0.69), the file audibly plays to the end but the circular playhead/grabhandle stops moving at 2 minutes 42 seconds. The gr...

Re: VST engineersFilter (fittre)

This VST raises problem under Windows Vista 64 bits and Windows 8.1 64 bits. It does not appear in the list of the effects installed in Audacity 2.1.0. (windows "Editer les scripts " of the menu File, while it appears logically in the VST of the menu "Effects". Thanks for all th...

It is very unlikely you will receive an answer to this here.

I suggest you write in English in the appropriate board: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=39.

Re: My Scarlet 2i2 does not show as an option for input/outp

I'm having the same problem. Using an old Macbook Pro with 10.6. The green USB light on the scarlett 2i2 comes on but it does not appear in the drop down list for recording. I'm not a sophisticated user of either mac or the scarlett (just bought both). I tried Transport > Rescan but that didn't wor...

No.

If you are looking for a player for SID files, see http://www.hvsc.de/players.htm.

However you can play the tune on your computer and record it into Audacity.
